Anyone else in STO open beta? I'm "Logas", look me up!
I'm currently without a fleet as well so maybe we'll put together something for fellow TRS'ers if there's enough.

I started playing last night. I think it will be lots of fun for trekkies, but not much for other people. I had quite a bit of fun in the couple hours I played. The lag is pretty bad in some places, and I had way more fun in space combat than on the ground. But I did like the way they implemented both aspects of combat during quests. The race choices and customization seems to be very deep. The Federation has like 10 different races alone. I doubt I'll play it though since I don't have much time for MMO's nowadays.

Broke down and got it last night. First game i bought since TF2 i think.
Was scared at first when i logged in. i literaly felt like i logged into SWG and imediatly got buyers remorse. Not that i dont like SWG, but thats not what i wanted. Got out into space and now im feeling much happier.
A few ship controls need to be borrowed from Eve i think. But in the same respect eve could incorperate some of STO's. I like being able to fly the direction of the ship and not rely on waypoints and targets or clicking on a point in space. But in the same respect i miss them. For example a fun tactic would be to orbit a enemy at 500-10,000 km with a right click on target option, move down to the hud options and command your ships shields and weapons, etc, then hop back to mouse driven control like STO.
But anyway. im liking it for what it is and i am very much liking what Eve and STO and the coming TOR and Mass effect 2 represent. I growing interest sci fi.
I dont know about anyone else around here, but im ready to lay down my swords, armor, demons and ancient beasts from another dimension and build space ships and explore the universe.
