i just bought a new macbook. core 2 duo 2ghz 1 gb ram 80 gb hd (going to go external usb so didnt need big one). and the reason i bought it is b/c i had osx86 on my regular pc and loved it so i decided to buy a mac. moral of the story i just spent to much money and that apple should put out a os that will run on anything maybe dummy down or something for people to start on to decide if they want to go with apple

Yeah but one of the best parts is 1) Apples hardware is beautiful and 2) The software runs better on the hardware it is built to run on.
Also how do you like it so far, I am getting the black macbook with 2gb of RAM pretty soon.

i like it, getting used to the layout though. just not liking it takes 1 hour to rip a dvd. cant wait to get home and get bootcamp working.

I know I love my Macbook, White C2D 2ghz 2GB RAM 120GB HD, I've had it just over two months now.

im looking for stuff to protect it cover, keyboard, palm rest, etc. but what are some things yall use to help protect.

I dont know - my Dell runs osx86 perfectly fine :P
Though i am planning on getting a macbook pro in a few months.

when i say layout i mean short cuts and stuff like that. when i say 1 hour to rip dvd it takes about 30min but thats still slow. and when i say bootcamp i mean getting bootcamp working. :) (not trying to be smart ass but thought i could explain since im bored)
