Yeah for those who dont know Video Games Live is where they play songs from classic and current video games with a full symphony orchestra hosted by Tommy Tallarico (Judgment Day Electronic Playground and Reviews on the Run). And it came through where I live (Phoenix) yesterday and today so my friend and I went. And I have to say it was awesome.

The music and presentation was a lot more then I had expected. That had lights and fog and a big screen TV that showed footage from the different games cept any Square Enix titles. The show started at 8pm but they said to get there around 5pm for all kinds of other stuff which turned out to be nothing more then 2 PS2s with Guitar Hero and a Space Invaders Arcade Unit. Also, they had the Video Game Pianoest guy from ebaums world that played Super Mario Bros theme blind folded and super fast which he did there.

After the show they had a meet and greet with the creators of Postal and Duke Nukem 3d and the guys who did Dragons Lair and Titan A.E. and of course Tommy Tallarico. I forgot to bring my camera (yeah Im a moron) so I dont have any pictures from it. But I did get a poster from the concert signed by everyone. In a small way this makes me feel better after I was pissed about missing MAC World. But go check out the site www.videogameslive.com and see if they are coming out to where you live and if they are buy tickets. I can easily say it was the best $50 I spent ever. Hell I would of paid $150 if I had to. If your one of those people like me who feel that games are more then just pretty graphics and look at them as the multimedia pieces of work they are then you have to go check it out

Also I forgot to mention a couple things:

1. the Video Game Pianoiest his name is Martin and when he came on stage and when he left the 2 or 3 times a few guys in the back screamed "JOEY! JOEY!" in that affectionate Martin Sargent way. So did I :P

2. They did a costume contest and DUDE! there was this ****ing hot as hell chick dressed up as Link. So if like some million in 1 chance that the chick who dressed up as Link is reading this there you go. Also, I was the fat guy next to the other fat guy wearing a Black T-Shirt with white writing and blue jeans. EMAIL ME PLZ jk but she was hot as **** :D

I went to Video Games Live a few months back at the Hollywood Bowl and it was amazing. Saw snake sneak around stage under a box and hide from a gaurd, saw some kids play Space invaders on this huge screen where the ship was controlled by them as they moved, got some awesome Frogger hand things ha. And Steve Vai (Or whatever his name is haha) came out and played guitar to Halo music and then ended it with a Halo 3 piece.

Yeah its funny because the Phoenix one was kind of ghetto compared to that. Tommy Talarico was in the box on ours and he also did the guitar for Halo 3. Also, that ship thing was fake as hell :P

Doesn't look like its coming to MI but I'll keep my eyes on it. Maybe that show thats TBD in Chicago will be late enough in 2007 that I would be able to attend that.
