I'll be honest, the season was pretty lame, but that finale was tremendously exciting and the final scene was the best thing they did this year. Kiefer was fantastic in it.
I thought for sure Bill was going to buy it, but I'm glad they are letting him and Karen retire into the sunset.
I have to say that my favorite moment was the Russian general shrugging his answer to whether or not they should pull back their troops once the rig was destroyed. He looked like when you ask a cab driver if he will take you to Brooklyn.

Why do you think that?

Why do you think that?
- It seemed like they had no idea where this season was going, they had a Bauer family/nuclear threat plotline that abruptly changed to a Chinese/Russian threat plotline.
- The supporting cast blew.
- The plotholes were worse than usual.
- Jack was hardly in it, comparatively.
- It was a complete mishmash of past season storylines - there was nothing original about it.
- Zero sense of urgency. In past years I literally COULD NOT WAIT to watch this show and this year I found myself catching a lot of them later on on my DVR.
I think the fact that the ratings tanked this year shows that a lot of people felt the same way.

Hawww...
"you want I should attack Americans?"
"eehhhh"
In the beginning, I was excited. After about hour 8 or 9 though, the only that I watched it live was because we all did together. I had way more fun here than with the show.

Agreed. I really felt it the few times I watched it later w/o the live posting.

Has anyone else mentioned this yet? Apparently production on 24 has been delayed three weeks by the scrapping of its storyline next season. (http://community.tvguide.com/blog-entry/TVGuide-Editors-Blog/Ausiello-Report/Exclusive-24-Plot/800018254)
funniest part of the article: they briefly looked for an area of LA that looked like Africa
whoosawhatsa? are there antelopes in the valley or something?

I guess good? If that gets next season back to the glory days, I don't mind.

I won’t swear by this, but I think they generally get released somewhere in the Oct-Nov timeframe? The seasons don’t start until early 2008, so before then I guess. This is the first season that I’m skeptical about even picking up.

Wait what?!? So these writers finally got over the Lets have Plamer be the president and then kill or try to kill him and started hanging out with the Prison Break Writers?

i haven't heard good things about this season, but the OCD in me has to pick it up to complete my 24 collection

24 is either desperate or brilliant because Carlos Bernard aka Tony Almeida is back! Here's the quote from executive producer Howard Gordon,
"Tony's uncertain fate... left the door open for his return, and since there was no silent clock at the conclusion of his last appearance ? the 24 tribute to a major character's demise ? we always kept this as a possibility."
I'm not sure if I'm excited about this (and I love Tony's character...)

i picked up the DVD last week and im roughly at 4:00pm. All i've heard is people bashing this season, but i've found it too be pretty solid so far, the writing is little shaky a times, and i've found a few plot holes, but the threat and villains are pretty entertaining.
I can't tell you guys how disappointed i was to find that Donald Sutherland wasn't playing Jack's father. I actually started yelling at the tv!

How far into the day is that? I dont' remember. When taht season went bad, it went bad really rapidly.

I know - it sucks. But, they dont' talk apparently.

Basically it's right when Jack's dad kidnaps his grandson

my co-worker told me that Keifer said they tried to get his dad for the role but there were scheduling issues, i don't know how accurate that info is though. apparently they are trying to get him on next season
So far the biggest problem i've found is that i don't buy a lot of the characters. I don't buy Wayne Palmer as the president, he feels shoehorned into the role (he was an advisor last season! how do you go from that to president?!?). I don't buy James Cromwell as Jack's Dad. I don't buy the actors who play both Nadia and Assad as muslims (one looks latino, the other looks like he's spent a few hours in a tanning bed)
I also didn't by Curtis' death, it felt way too rushed and tacked on
That being said i might just being trying to find stuff that bugs me due to all the negativity i've heard about this season

I thought it went bad when the Chinese threat became the central threat
The Nuke and searching for the tangos was brilliant

okay, so President Logan and his wife have now shown up, and things are starting to get a bit ridiculous.......
"Martha! you have to call the Russian first lady or else we'll go to war with Russia!"
