I'm posting here cause its the only place I know of that I can ask questions like this, and I don't want to add myself to there official forums.

I just got NFS Most wanted, installed it and runs amazing on my new system.

If I quit the game, when I get back to windows, my icons are not shown, my clock area is a black square and I can't click on anything, nothing works...i have to press the reset button on my case..

What is wrong, how do I fix this....other games do not do this.

install the latest game patch.

great game. I loved the ending. It got a little hard from time to time.

I lauched the game and played it without any programs running on the desktop, since firefox and msn are left running all the time.

Didn;'t screw up after I quit the game this time.

Could it be msn or firefox, I hope not.

Got a link to there updates, there forums dont work, and there site is confusing I find.

Edit* is 1.3 the latest update?

It looks like u have to use EALink. If this is a stolen copy u might have to use the likes of gamecopyworld.

its not a stolen or downloaded copy, and what is EALink?

v1.3 (http://www.gamespot.com/pages/gamespace/download.php?pid=927142&sid=6140807&mode=latest) ought to be the last update I think.

Yea I installed that, not sure if this is because of the patch or not but...

now it does sometimes, seems like when firefox is running it does it the most..

It's weird.hmmm

DirectX can be found via dxdiag and the nvidia driver version can be found if you right click on desktop and hit props, setting tab, advanced button, into the nvidia control panel tab, then its in the topmost list item.

Thanks.

AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4600+ running at 2.59Ghz (2.4ghz is normal)

i had it at 2.66, then started crashing..and weird stuff....game and system.

1gb of ram, enough harddrive space, dual geforce 7900GT/gtos

Have u tried stress testing it at 2.59ghz with something like Seti @home? Does NFS crash at the normal CPU speed?

I dont remember, im pretty sure NFS was crashing to the desktop before hand, then I overclocked and started having more problems with the desktop and restarting, not just the game.

Where do I find these stress tests?

I'm sure u can get generic ones on google but i recommend using SETI@home
http://setiathome.berkeley.edu/ because it looks cool.
