I was watching the entire stream of Leo Laporte on Saturday night in Austin. He filmed a lot of backstage stuff, and Kevin before he went on stage said that Live-streaming for future Diggnations is a possibility.... and that he wants it.

Leo mentioned a conflict from ad companies, etc. that was the reason he couldn't film/point the camera towards the stage. I don't know what the legal parts are, but I would definitely be willing to pay $10 a month to see Diggnation live and uncut (both live events and at home).

I know live-streamed at-home episodes are less likely, but isn't there a way to make a sign-in verified page that also can be accountable to your viewing numbers for advertising and sales.

I would be willing to pay a few bucks a month to watch Diggnation streamed, but I still want the free option as well.

I think Leo's problem was from some of the advertisers of Rev3/Diggnation arent advertisers on TWIT and might be competitors to one of his advertisers.

A point from another thread was that Diggnation doesnt want to live stream becausesometimes they might mess up the script when reading the "sponsors" ad.. heck.. IMO that would even bring more attention to the sponsor when we are laughing at their mess ups.. instead of turning away thinking: "same ol' GoDaddy and Netflix ad we've heard a thousand times before.. I'll go get a beer"... 99.9% uptime... over 40,000.. distribution centers ,some blu-ray, delivery pretty much the next day.. for the life of your order.. 2 week free trial... yadda yadda..

Just sayin'

my thoughts.. your experiences may vary

maybe you guys are new around these parts of the interwebs, but they already did the paid thing a while ago. They used to charge $5/month to get the show a few days early but got rid of it. Don't think they'll be going back.

and hellhound, I can recite godaddy, netflix, cachefly, and gamefly from memory. makes me sick. im glad they have the sections in the flash player so i can easily skip the ads in most shows :)

Yea I was here way back then too, when they used to have this option, however that would be an irrelevant perk these days as the time it takes to go from post to web is less than a day now.

I know on at-home shows they do mess up things like sponsors, personal info (like people's phone numbers or emails), info they had signed a NDA on and had to edit out, etc.

On the topic, Leo said in a TWiT episode around Christmas that he is considering dropping their "voluntary" contribution method altogether on the TWiT Network as they now make a profit from their AOL partner and from additional advertising.

I'm simply saying that if a Live-feed were made available for live-events that was completely separate from the finalized version that is broad-casted on Rev3, I would pay to see it. <--- and that goes for whether it is official or unofficial. Except more behind the scenes with the "VIPs" in the green "rooms" would be cool.
