i just watched the macworld show and it was killingly funny. the story about the goats was very cool and i just want to know what the goats are donig up the trees. so, i googled a little bit and here the result:
the picture that was shown on the show was made in morocco (north-west africa). because of less of food the goats climb up the trees to eat their friuts and leaves. the funny on this story is that they climb only on "Arganien-trees". this tree have a friut with a nut inside. the morocceen women made oil form the nuts. when goats eats the fruit, they can't digest the nuts so the nuts falls out with their "poo". a rumor says that some morocceen women collect the poo and pull out the nuts out of the poo to make oil of them... very very disgusting.
so, memorise: don't buy or drink "Arganien-trees"-nuts-oil if you are in morocco! you don't know from what the oil was made of! ;-)

I must say, I don't believe this. To me it looks like it is a simple case of photoshop. It looks like the goats are defying the laws of physics in the photo. They are perched on thin branches that couldn't support their weight without bending. I remember seeing the story on digg before diggnation and I dug it down because I thought it was bull. I haven't looked at it since and at the time I made a snap judgement and moved on, so I may have missed something, but... someone please tell me why that can't just be a clever photoshop job.

I thought for sure that picture on Digg of the giant rabbit was, but turns out it was legit... unless the newpapers fell for it too. I don't trust anything I see anymore, ha

Aaah, at last, I can sleep tonight. I was counting goats but it wasn't working. Now I'll drift happily into slumber thinking about the tree climbing goats that aren't hungry anymore. :p

Okay here's the deal with the goats on the tree. The tree is called Argan and it's pretty rare. You can find it in Morocco (north Africa). Goats are eating something like olives but bigger 4-5 cm. Since that area is real dry goats don't have anything to eat besides that fruit, so that's why they climb those trees, they eat part of it, and spit the other part out, (pit) then locals pick that part out, and use it to produce oil. It's something like olive oil but way more exclusive, in Europe you can get a liter of Argan oil for like $150. It's supposedly the healthiest oil in the world. Okay, so it's not as bizzare as it seems, right? Or maybe it is.

Neven from Croatia, Europe.Yeh - it is kinda weird, but not as strange as the people that decided that grinding the coffee beans found in civet poo was a really good idea ... Civet Coffee (Kopi Luwak) (http://www.firebox.com/index.html?dir=firebox&action=product&pid=1077).
