Hi. I am Ragtime. I live in South Jersey. I started listening to the podcast about two months ago during my commute into Pennsylvania, and decided to join today.
I real current DC and classic Silver Age Marvel. I also own every single comic ever printed by Virgin Comics during its brief lifetime.
My favorite Comic Book from the last week was Wonder Woman #24. My least favorite was Green Arrow/ Black Canary #12, which I am now dropping.
I primarily do critical comic book theory at comicbookthoughts.blogspot.com, where lately I have blogged extensively on Helena Wayne's underpants.

I'm Kit. Caitlin to some, but mostly just Kit. I'm not always around, as I tend to get absentminded and distracted by shinythings. I suppose the most important thing(s) to know about me is that after too many years of intensive schooling, I'm obsessive about a few topics, and tend to be a little argumentative, mostly with the goal of getting to really understand things. Apologies if this gets annoying, and I promise to not bite.
Also, I'm a girl. The wonderous iFanboy podcast featured my (admittedly rambling and drunk-composed) email on episode #151.

I'm Adam. I work in a chain of comic stores in and around Boston. Went to elementary and middle school with PiscesPaul, and am now one of his comic dealers. He mentioned this site a while ago, and because I am neglectful, I didn't get around to checking it out for months. But when I was sifting through podcasts to add to my mp3 player, I found the iFanboy stuff, and I'm hooked. Great site. Love the emphasis on comics, and not being snippy, ranting Internet doofii.
Keep up the good work. I've been playing the podcasts at work, in lieu of the radio for the last week, and I'm hoping that sends more people in your direction.

Hello, I'm Jedeye Sniv and I'm from the UK, kinda near London. I've been listening to the podcast and watching the shows for the last 6 months or so, great work guys, keep it up! I joined these forums because I realised that outside of my long-suffering girlfriend I don't really have anyone to talk comics with, and lots of forums feel a bit icky or young. Ifanboy feel cool, so count me in!

My name is Kyle, and I live in uptown NYC. I've been listening to the show since I saw that Tom Katers from AC did some guest spots, and I've gone back and listened to a lot of the older episodes to get the guys' opinions on some of the older books I'd been picking up.
I just got back into comics about 4 months ago, and I've been inhaling everything I can get my hands on, including the entire runs of Daredevil, Cap, New Avengers, Spider-Man OMD/BND, and all the sister titles (I'd read the first half of the JMS/Jenkins runs prior), The Walking Dead, Fables, Y the Last Man and, well, others. I did some catching up on X-Men, but decided that I wasn't really enjoying anything current since Whedon left Astonishing.
Before I dropped comics, I'd been pretty much exclusively a Spider-Man guy, and I clawed back to having read every 616 Spider-book post 2000 or so. I dropped Amazing prior to the New Ways to Die arc, though. I understand BND is popular around these parts, and I'm about 10 months late to the crying session, so, umm, let's just move on.
I've been trying to dig around in some current DC stuff, poking around here and there where Johns' name pops up, but while I enjoy the books, I just don't have the history with those characters the same way I do with Marvel.
Anyway, I'm really enjoying my reunion with comics. I was an immature reader the last time I was mucking around in comics, and it's fun to actually put my useless English Lit degree to some manner of use in between operating Xerox machines for 983456 hours a day, even if it's to do with stories about zombies, super heroes and the big bad wolf.

I think you'll find that iFanboy.com (http://www.ifanboy.com) (and hopefully these forums by extension) are unlike other message boards on the web. Lots of fun, interesting talk without personal attacks and flame wars.
I hope to see you more around both places!
Hello everyone. New to iFanboy and the forums, but have been reading comics for 10 years now. And this is exactly what I'm looking for. All the other forums out there are full of people who like the attacks and "flame wars" so I look forward to the forum. I've caught up though by reading a bunch of the reviews and watch all the iFanboy episodes and mini's over the past few weeks so I have a good feel of the personalities i can expect in here.
I am an English major, and enjoy journalistic writing, so feel free to check out some of my book reviews in the iFanboy main website if you get a chance and let me know what you think. thanks everyone! :)

Hey folks!
I just posted on an Alan Moore thread, so I figured for the sake of courtesy I better introduce myself to you all.
I'm Niall, I'm 28, I'm from Ireland. I've been reading comics since I was 12 or 13, I suppose. Back in the day, when I was just getting started, I looooooved Spawn. I read mostly trades now, so i tend to move from title to title pretty erratically. At the moment, I've just finished Y: The Last Man, I'm halfway through The Armour Wars... I'm trying out Invincible but not liking it. I think Alan Moore is God, but actually Grant Morrison might be instead... can't decide. I came accross ifanboy a while back, googling video podcasts. Been lurking around the site ever since.
Um... dunno what else, really. That's me.

Hey all,
I've been part of the iFanbase for quite a while now. 2 years I think. Been reading comics since the late 70's as a wee lad and really got into them around the time Secret Wars came out (5th grade for me). Pretty much stopped reading comics by high school, although still picked up the random issue here and there. Was turned off by the early 90's comics (everybody drawing like Liefeld and variant covers, etc.) I started getting back into the comics by buying back issues of monster comics (Where Monsters Dwell, etc). When my friend at college gave me a copy of the new Avengers #1 (Busiek/Perez) I was back in big time. Haven't looked back since.
I don't know much about forums, so I'm new to this aspect.
Really enjoy the podcasts. Several great suggestions by the iFanboys have expanded my comic reading horizons.
I have posted a bunch of times on the iFanboy site (to absolutely no one's notice/interest).
I think that's pretty good for an introduction.

Hi everyone, I'm a law student out in Oregon - VERY new to comics, but really beginning to get into them.
The first comics I ever remember buying were actually way back... some sort of Ren & Stimpy comics actually, but I never really became interested until a year or so ago. It was actually the X-Men movies that got me to the point of trying them out. As such, I did a little research and started with Morrison's run on New X-Men, as well as Ultimate X-Men, both of which I have enjoyed so far. Since then, I've loved V for Vendetta and Watchmen, then began to branch out a bit with The Sandman, Y: The Last Man and some more.
Anyway, I always enjoyed the comics portion of the Totally Rad Show, gave me a lot of great ideas, and have gotten to the point where I actually have a pull list at a comic shop and have started to enjoy iFanboy! So.. yeah, hi!

I've been reading comics for far too long but can't seem to kick the habit (although I did 'have a break' from them in the 90's but the adiction was just too strong). Hey,
I'm Jay and I have been collecting comics for about 25 years but have been less into it as of late just due to some frustration with spending good money on low quality stories. I discovered the show quite recently and have enjoyed listening to and reading the recommendations from others. My plan is to start buying trades instead of investing in monthly books and feeling ripped off. I have been kind of perusing the boards and admire the civil, mature and irreverent level of discourse.
I think the shows are great. Keep up the good work.

Hi iFanbase...
Chris here. I've been collecting comics on a regular basis for over 10 years now. I found iFanboy's podcasts in February '08, have been lurking around iFanboy.com for a long time, and have finally signed myself up for a profile!
Nowadays, I am a trade collector really (I subscribe to just a couple of monthlies). But I always keep an ear out for the newest stuff in the monthly format.

oh hai!
I'm Meghan and I like comics.
I'm really bad at introductions. I've been reading comics since 2002, and at one point was getting 17 titles a month (small change to some of you I'm sure) but right now I only get Fables and Nyx (nostalgia mostly). I decided to join iFanboy after listening to the podcast for a few months, and I totally love it! It's great to feel like I'm sort of back in comics again, even if I'm not necessarily reading them.
General: I live in RI, spend too much time on the internet and am trying to "figure things out." I like a sordid variety of music but current rotation is: Ryan Adams, Mike Doughty and metal. Lots of metal. br00tal! :D

Been watching / listening to the podcast for a while now, but don't usually have a ton of time for the site :( That said, here I am :) I like superhero books, but read al sorts of stuff. Especially like the cosmic sci fi stuff, as it was Silver Surfer and the Infinity Gauntlet saga that got me hooked on comics in the first place. For DC, I'm a Green Lantern guy, and please don't beat me up, but yes i liked Kyle. Thee days I read most everything I can, but I've switched totally to trades. With a little one on the way I'e got no more room for long boxes.

forum. I started collecting comics back in 1975 but quit when I finished grad school. I had my first job and money was an issue so I took up golf instead. Back in the day I was spending about $100 a week and eating Ramen and I got the golf bug so something had to give.
I rebooted my comic itch about 2 years ago and I have been trying to catch up ever since. Now I have the disposable income to pretty much get everything that is new each week AND eat something besides Ramen...so there begets my forum handle...ComicWhore.

I fell in love with comics when i was 12 and one of my guy pals handed me a copy of X men #3 and asked me " How much you want to draw the chick with the purple hair topless" I ended up charging him the all the comics he had that came after that one and was addicted. I love comics and tend to be a fickle collector, I can will totally follow a book that is painful to read as long as the art is good. Hence me sticking through the last installment of the "Ultimates". Also i have a nastalgic weak spot for the X worid which at times is well painful to say the least. Not sure if there is anything else of substance to say. love and nappiness

Naveen from Philly here. I dropped out of comics in the mid-90's and only came back last year after a few false-starts. I like Vertigo stuff, and some Dark Horse, though at this point I'm just "catching up" on all the great books I missed while I was gone.
Oh yeah, I love the podcasts. Thanks guys!

Hi,
I'm Andy and I have loved comics for the last 30 years (all my life!!!).
I am a massive fan of eighties classics like Watchmen and Dark Knight Returns but am partial to some recent beauties such as Ultimates (not 3 though, of course) and Alex Ross' Justice and Kingdom Come. I have also been known to slavver insanely over comic book movies like Sam Raimi's Spiderman.
I love Grant Morrison and have every issue of the Invisibles and lots of other stuff he has done.
I dropped out for a while cos comics just seemed to be getting boring and samey - but I'm back on board and staying here!!
Greetings, fellow comic fans!

Well for one thing I was the wierded out guy who called the fanboys voicemail box and didn't even leave a name an hour ago xD. ( i didn't even register yet then )
I do alot of other things, still working on that BA, kinda unemployed atm -_-. Making ends meet. I play alot of Roms (you name it). I'm a big "Angry Video Game Nerd" fan, which is how I found ifanboy on youtube... the rest you can say is history.

*Been a fan of comics since the late eighties early nineties, I mostly read Marvel particulary anything by Dan Slott & Ed Brubaker.
*I currently enjoy Captain Brittan & MI: 13, DareDevil, Cap'n America, Avenger: Initiative and Thor from Marvel.
*DC comics I usually limit to stuff like All Star Superman and other prestige format books, although I was enjoying Blue Beetle.

Hey Everyone,
I'm Jason, and have been a listener for a good while now but haven't been active on the forums. I spend a fair amount of time at the Comics Forums and on the forums for our own show, 11 O'Clock Comics, but am going to make a more concerted effort to contribute here from time to time.
Had the chance to finally meet the guys in person at NYCC, and I respect what they're doing and the community you all have going here.
Been collecting comics for 25+ years, probably own 18,000+ comics and read just about everything that comes out [save for manga]. In addition to reading them, I've been roped into talking about them for 2 hours a week thanks to Chris Neseman, Vince B and David Price; not that anyone needs another podcast to listen to.
See you on the forums,

Hello iFanboy,
I work at the comic/gaming store in my town, so needless to say, I love comics. I'll read single issues pretty often, but buy almost entirely in trade. (What can I say? I like them on my bookshelves.) Caped heroes fell out of my favor a couple of years ago, but every once and a while I'll see a mainstream book that piques my fancy.
I mainly read Vertigo, Dark Horse and the indies. I'll pick up anything by Jonathon Hickman, Ben Templesmith, Brian Wood and (almost anything by) Warren Ellis. And, to fulfill the stereotype about girl comic geeks, Neil Gaiman is in my pantheon.
Anyway, hello!

If you are interested in a superhero book, I'm going to go out on a limb and recomend New Unversal, by Ellis. It came out about the same times the tv show heroes did, and they are
quite similar. I think there is one trade out, and issues come out every 4 months or so.

Hey all,
Hope you're all doing good. iFanboy follower from the Uk here. Been listening to the podcasts for months now, but only just got around to signing up on here - I hope to stick around though.
I've been into comic books since I began to read, with my first book being the Justice League way back in the seventies. These days - although I dip into titles from the other companies occasionally - I've remained true to my roots and I'm a die-hard DC guy, with my man Booster Gold being my favourite title. I also like JLA, Green Lantern, Flash, Bats and the occasional Ambush Bug appearance.
I'm a freelance writer, and I'm currently working on a title for an independent publisher. Pretty excited about it - Just hope when it does eventually see the light of day it shifts a copy!
Also looking forward to my next stateside comic con later this year!
Anyway, hope to see you all around. Take care,
D

Not much to say at the moment, really, except I tend to comment on the music more than anything else in the podcasts.
Especially when it's Morrissey. Although that Dag Nasty episode was pretty cool, too.
Someone asked a couple posts back about Milwaukee residents, I lived at 45th and Lisbon in a house that was shockingly similar to the giant shack from Fight Club. Does that count?

Hi, I am Thorsten from germany. I got a iPod from my girlfriend for Christmas and so I started to looks for entertaining podcasts because sometimes you just need something else than music, and german radio sucks. So I ended up at iFanboy. I really like the podcast, it's very entertaining and I am always looking forward to it.
I love comicbooks. Since I dropped a lot of the Marvel titles I was reading about a year ago I am even more into creator owned/indie stuff than before. I tend to buy most of the stuff that Erik Larsen, Ben Templesmith, Sam Kieth, Doug TenNaple and Ashley Wood put out. Additional to that I like DMZ, Invincible., Walking Dead, Fear Agent, The Boys, Daredevil and Captain America. For some weird reason I dig Dave Sims glamourpuss. And everything Hellboy related is a must.

Lost on comics or the site? As far as comics are concerned, there's an entire thread devoted to "New/Returning Comic Readers. Wave hi over there, let us know what you interests are and we'll steer you in the right direction.
I don't know which podcast you are familiar with, but there are both video and audio available. Poke around Ifanboy.com , watch old episodes. They're a handy source of info. there's A pull list feature on Ifanboy.com that you can use when you register on the main site like you did here, to create a list of books you'd like to buy before you go to your local comic shop.
Comment on articles, ask questions etc, we love hearing from new people.
If you're nervous about starting a title, but are interested in it, Dive in! None of us know everything about a given title and chances are you can pick up an general idea of the ongoing story in every issue of a title.
Also, and this is the most important thing: Welcome Aboard, Ntrlhzrd. Glad to have you. Hope you have fun!

Hi everyone I'm Moongoose, and before anyone asks, no it's not a typo. It's a long story between me and my best friend when he misspelled mongoose and somehow the name was put on me a couple years ago and it's my handle for almost everything.
Came across this podcast a year and a half ago when I was looking for something new to watch. Kinda liked a episode here and there. Tried something out of their recommendation about that time. Went away for a while and now watch almost every week.
I wouldn't consider myself a huge comic fan. I don't buy comics every week. The ones I do buy, I buy in trades. I just look for stories that sound cool and like how they are made. Always looking for a new series or book.
So again hi everyone.

Recently returned to comics after a 15 year hiatus and trying to catch up on everything. Use to be strictly a Marvel fan in the 90s but now I'm open to everything. Watchmen actually helped me get back into it. Mostly I'll just be lurking around and asking the occasional question. I really enjoy the podcast and I've found it useful to determine where to jump in and what series are worth picking up right now.

Hey, folks.
I've been a podcast-listener of iFanboy for a couple months now. I recently just got into the video shows and figured I might as well take the plunge and become a full-on iFanboy fanboy.
I dabble in writing comics, for anyone interested (Current Tally of Anyone Interested: 0). I also review issues and trades for ComicNews******. I suggest you check the site out if you have time or insomnia.
On the advice of Josh, Conor, and Ron, I've picked up the first trade of Proof, but my most favoritest of comics include Identity Crisis, Alias, and The Escapists.
See you in the threads.

Hello all. I have been listening to the podcast for a couple months now and have finally got on and registered. A bit about me; I am very new to the comics world. Although I am on in years (31, old for a first timer) I am really finding the comic world interesting. I was first introduced to it by a friend who loaned me some Civil War trades and was hooked immediately. Since then I have always been a "Marvel Only" kind of guy. But now that I have read more, researched more, and listened more; I have branched out. I got a pretty nice surprise when I found my LCS gives a 20% discount if you have a pull list of ten or more, so I did my homework and put together my first-ever pull list. Here is the horribly cliched - but fun to read list:
Thor
Immortal Iron Fist
New Avengers
Captain Britain and MI13
Incredible Hercules
Exiles
Uncanny X-Men
Batman
Batman and Robin
Batman: Streets of Gotham
The last three are mainly prep for when BFTC ends. I got some back issues of the RIP event and Detective comics and I think I like where it is headed.
So anyway, that's me. Pretty vanilla, but I'm just starting out.
PS - How do I make a POTW on the site? I am registered, I make make pulls and I can rate them, just don't know how to designate one as my "Pick". Thanks.

If you click on "Your Comics" on the homepage, it will bring you to your pull list. After the books are released, there is an option for making a book your pick. Directly underneath the stars you click on to rate the book is a little thing that says "make your pick." Just click on that and the book becomes your POW.

Hello,
I have kind of always been a comic book reader, I started collecting seriously when I was about 14 (I am 30 now.) I would go to the grocery store with my mom and read the comics they had there while she was shopping, and one time I picked up a Todd McFarlane issue of a SpiderMan cross over with X-Force and knew I had to have it. 16 years and thousands of dollars later here I am. I am a freelance graphic designer, love music, basketball, MMA, science fiction, and mountain biking. I have always been a Marvel fan, I will read some DC but nothing on a regular basis (except AllStar Superman while that was coming out), don't hate me. I'm really visual and biased towards books with good art - so when the art team changes I will usually stop buying the book right away if I don't like the new art team, no matter how much I might like the story. My regular purchases include:
Daredevil
100 Bullets (I was mad when the ifanboy podcast didn't even mention the series finale)
Umbrella Academy
Hellboy & BPRD
New Avengers & Dark Avengers
Ender's Game
Dark Tower
End League
Destroyer
Invincible
Kick Ass
Amazing SpiderMan
Marvel Zombies
Scalped
enough about me...

How are you guys doing?
I'm watching this show to learn more about comics because I know jack-squat about comics. I think I read one comic when I was 14 years old, but the magic didn't catch on for me.
That being said, I find this podcast interesting. IFanboy is very educational; this show has taught me a lot about how comics are created, distributed, etc... Also, the hosts seem like nice, fun-loving guys. Who knows, maybe this podcast will inspire me to crack a comic book or two :D.
Currently I'm on ep 26. Boy do I have a long way to go!

So I've been listening to iFanboy for quite some time now and it wasn't until just now that I decided to actually sign on to the message boards. I used to love comics when i was a kid (even though I don't quite remember having more than 5 issues at a time) and I recently got hooked on them hard. I've only really been collecting them for two years now but i love it!
Anyway, just wanted to say hi!

Hi, I've been an iFanboy reader for a long time now but I never bothered to join the forum. I've had some free time on my hands lately so I figured I would give it a chance.
Here are a few quick things about me. I'm a tax accountant. I run my own blog/comic news & review site at fandomnow.com. And my current favorite titles are Invincible, Spider-Man, and Green lantern.
And to everyone on the staff of iFanboy, keep up the good work.

Hey my name is Levan / IMJUSTBETTR
I'm both new to this board AND to comics in general.
I consider myself to be a story-lover, in any medium be it tv, movies, novel, audio, or comic books.
I started getting into comics about 2 months ago and I'm just eating this stuff up now.
Currently looking for the types of comics i like.
So far I've enjoyed the new Deadpool, A. Spider-man, The Umbrella Academy, and some old Batman stuff.
I'm still looking for new and interesting comics, and I'm VERY VERY open minded about different publishers, writers, styles, stories, characters, and genres. So if anybody has a comic series they ABSOLUTELY love, please recommend it to me!

Hey everyone, been away from...lurking for a while. Finally decided to join up. I'm an avid Flash, Batman and Green Lantern fan. So I'm obviously a DC lover. I've got nothing against Marvel, just never ventured over there.

I hadnt introduced myself yet so I wanted to take a few minutes and go about doing so.
Name's Tim, I'm 23, and recently got into comics again. I hadnt bought comics since I was like 12. I started back up with the first issue of Dark Avengers, and been buying every week since. I live outside Philadelphia, and though my local comic shop is small (Steves Comic Relief) I really enjoy it because it's kind of homy feeling. I spend a minimum of 15$ a week on issues, but I havent bought anything yet that I was disappointed with. Any questions just feel free to ask.

Allo, Allo. introductions are in order as I'm new to the forum. Big fan of iFanboy and a life long comic book fan. 25+ years *ahem* not to age myself. I read a little bit of everything (Darkhorse, Image, Vertigo, Marvel) but...I am a tried and true DC fan. It pumps in my blood peeps.
I'm also a huge movie and TV fan and all around obsessed with popular culture.
I'm also a member of my own podcast- The Atomic Geeks. It's a show about 4 guys drinkin' beer and discussing TV, Movies, Comic Books, Video Games, Action Figures and everything in between. Geek subject matter with a twist. Would welcome you to ALL check it out-

I'm lucky enough to claim San Francisco's Isotope Comic Book Lounge as my LCS (even though there are 3 others closer to my home-- but everything's local in SF).
I listen to Pick of the Week podcast on a pretty regular basis.

Hi everyone,
I've been collecting comics since the early 80's. The New Teen Titans by Wolfman and Perez was my gateway comic. I worked at a Comic Shop in the early 1990's, it's still the best job I ever had. Just discovered iFanboy and think its great.

Hey Holden, have you tried to incorporate comics into any of your classes and if so how?
Not yet, but it has occured to me. 99% of my kids are black, and every single one of them love art. The problem is that there aren't many black writers (and characters) in the medium, and even though it doesn't seem that it should matter, I think it would impact them more if the comics I presented to them were by African American writers. Also, as far as I know, there aren't many historical fiction works in comics. That would honestly be the only things relevant to add to my curriculum. If I'm wrong and there are some out there, please be sure to let me know.

I'm Noto. The handel has nothing to do with Phil Noto, and it has become so common a nickname that even my friends use it when they address me. You're more than welcome to as well - or you can call me Shawn (which is my real name). I certainly answer to both at this point. I was heavily into comics from the late 80s to the late 90s and gave up entirely in the early parts of this decade. But for whatever reason I came back in January and have been reading what I've missed ever since.
I mainly read the core Marvel/DC superheroes titles. I also read Irredeemable and Vampirella.
I'm currently going through Y: The Last Man and Fables in trades since I missed those in my absense. I'm onboard with the new Vertigo titles, and have been busy collecting omnibuses. I'm always open for recommendations.
I recently purchased my first piece of original art in a benefit auction, and I'm looking forward to what's sure to be my favorite possession ever to arrive next month (The Strangers In Paradise Friggin' Huge Omnibus that will have to be delivered to my door by crane and opened outside to move it in pieces.)
That's really all I have to say right now. I've been on iFanboy for months and never bothered with the forum. I feel now's a good time.

Nothing to be envious about. It was a total stupid gamble for me. I actually got laid off in April and hadn't found a job yet at the time the SiP omni was announced clicking the mouse on purchasing was a difficult thing to do. It was probably the pinnacle of my geekdom where I went, "do I really have to eat this week?"
In case you're wondering, I've learned that a $5 footlong can last you for two meals, and a $5 Little Caesar's Pizza can last for 3-4 if you plan it right.

Hey guys,
Consider this post a "re-introduction," given that I already joined the forums about a year ago, and then went inactive for quite some time. I've been listening on and off (but mostly on now! :)) since then, but always been a fan.
Recently I've gotten back into the show especially, but also into comics more. I read mostly Marvel, and within Marvel mostly X-Men, but I'm branching out based on what Josh, Connor, and Ron have been talking about.
Such a great podcast, and I think you guys do a fantastic job. It's only gotten better since the year ago I first tuned in.
I plan on reviewing things and keeping up a decent pull list, and you can check out my latest review of X-Men Origins: Gambit here: http://ifanboy.com/reviews/Revalk/marvel_comics/x-men_origins_gambit/1

I thought Drafted was ok. I enjoyed the first trade in a way, but the idea seems to be a little worn out and they didn't make it feel unique enough to pique my interests. I'll give the second trade a try though. I'm sure that's much better.

Hello fellow comic geeks, fanatics, and nerds. My name is Mark Adamczyk, (pronounced Adamcheck), and live in the city of champions, Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. I am 28 years old and have been into comic books for about twenty years now. It has been off and on but I have always had my eyes on a comic even when I was not collecting. I have been working as a security officer for about seven years now and I am an aspiring musician and comic book writer.
Picked up on the IFanboy podcasts about 8 or 9 months ago and found that the guys and gals really shared a lot of my own opinions and really opened my eyes to a lot of new and different titles out there that I never would have given a chance to.
Hope to chat with many of you on the boards and to enjoy a lot of great comics that are out there.

Just call me Vliegmans. I'm 19 years young, from the Netherlands. Started reading comics 4 years ago, I saw the cover of the Dutch Spider-man that had the Sins Past and 12 part Marvel Knights Spider-man arc in it. The cover just screamed BUY ME and since then I was hooked. Though I swayed away from American comics and jumped on the manga bandwagon. I've been to Japan and have seen the whole otaku culture up and close. And it's funny, when I returned I didn't watch or read anime and manga for about 4 months. I don't know why.
But I've recently began exploring the American side again. Starting with Spider-man and Iron Man, slowly I'm getting more into the Batman universe as well.
Also I usually collect and read paperbacks.
Good day~

Hey, guys, I guess I didn't introduce myself yet. I'm from a different, currently dying, forum and decided to move over here because I need a place where people will still talk comic books! That's my favorite thing about the podcast--the fact that they discuss comic books and not the latest episode of whatever is on the SciFi network.
Thanks for being such a respectful and awesome board--I hope to stick around for the duration.

Yeah, this is the only message board I have ever gone to that wasn't a bunch of stubborn idiots flaming each other. Even when people here disagree, they tend to have civil, logical discussions rather than the kind of "U SUCK I HATEZ U LOLZ!" crap that is all over the internet. It's a damn fine message board.

I loved collecting X-Men my first issue was when Kitty Pryde joined up. My fav artist include art adams, Jim Lee i was really into Image when they first started gen 13, Spawn, wildcats ect. but drifted back to marvel stuff. No comic store within 200 km of where i live so everything is mail order. Im thinking of restarting with some of the DC titles not sure what else is any good anymore. Was thinking about just watching some of the podcast and going from there.

A reminder: I lived in a small house in the deep woods of Connecticut for about 9 months, with no friends nor a decent comic shop anywhere around. Hello everyone
I live in Smithers BC, Canada way up north :) I havent really collected comics in about 9 years but after pulling out my old collection it peaked my interest again. I started collecting in the early 80s with X-Men through the comic boom with the 15 variant cover era of Image Comics and slowly stopped in the early 2000s. I have started to inventory my collection im on box 5 of 19 so it will take me a bit. I think ill pick up a few titles this month and see what i like.
btrobertson
07-27-2009, 02:15 AM
Hello all. My name is B.T. Robertson and I'm 32 years old as of last Tuesday. I haven't purchased or read a comic book since I was about 16 years old or so, much to my dismay (I hate admitting that on a comic book forum). I work with a guy who's become a good friend, and he's the equivalent of a comic book encyclopedia set. He's very knowledgeable and within the last two months I'm fully back into comic book reading (and semi-collecting). I found only a small subset of the books I bought back when I was a teenager, but they're all in great shape nonetheless.
I'm basically here because I'm still considered a huge n00b in the world of comic books. I have three subscriptions through Marvel, but the rest of my books I get through a local store about 7 minutes from my house (gotta support the local book shop)! I'm always looking for something new to read. This past week, I got hooked on Deadpool. I knew about him, but I didn't realize just how great his books are; the whole "fourth wall" thing is just superb, even if I am late to the party on that fact.
I'm also a novelist, but instead of rambling on about it, if you want more information you can visit my website at www.btrobertson.com.
Here's a list of what I'm reading (ongoing status), in no particular order, which my favorites noted with an asterisk:
Marvel
New Mutants*
Secret Warriors
Amazing Spider-Man (nabbed all five cover variants of #600, including the Dynamic Force limited - stupid, but it's the first milestone issue I've experienced in years)
Deadpool*
Deadpool: Merc with a Mouth*
X-Men Legacy*
Uncanny X-Men*
Wolverine Origins
Wolverine Weapon X
New Avengers*
Dark Avengers*
X-Force* (the asterisk is misleading...this is my favorite book Marvel has out right now)
DC
Blackest Night* (including all tie-ins and mini-series books)
I have to stop and say that Blackest Night is, by far, the best reading I've ever experienced in comic book reading THUS FAR. As far as events go, it's just amazing, though I have to admit that I don't know much about the DC Universe at this time. Either way, great stuff.
Batman and Robin (not bad, but Damian is seriously annoying...not sure if I like him or Nightwing as Batman yet...time will tell, but the book is written well and I love the art)
Green Lantern*
Trade paperbacks:
Secret Invasion
Secret War
Civil War
Wolverine Origin
Death of Superman
Deadpool
X-Men Messiah Complex
Single issues:
Hulk #600
Captain America #600

Hello all. Name's Chris, but for the purpose of our conversations here, you can call me Brad. We'll get to the reason behind that in a bit. First, about me and comics.
I haven't read them since I was a little kid. Like, really little. Anyway, I guess my interest was piqued by Jeff talking about them on TRS. It was through him that I discovered iFanboy. A couple of episodes later, and here I am with my first comics in about 28 years. I like the new Green Lantern stuff. The new Captain America? Not so much. Currently anticipating buying all the latest Flash stuff.
Anyway, when I'm not reading comics I play guitar in a punk band and I'm the head ref for a roller derby league in Indianapolis. That, for the record, explains my handle on the forums here... It's the name I skate under when I'm doing the derby thing.
For the time being I'll observe the age old adage of "read much, post little" in the hopes of learning more about this world, but I'm looking forward to lots of good art and reading in the months to come.

Greetings,
My name is Pete, and I recently found iFanboy while looking for comic-related podcasts. Love the show, and thought I'd hang on the board and write a few reviews. I normally comics from all publishers, but DC seems to have most of my attention these days. Love the Podcasts, keep them coming!!!

I am Russell (Habakkuk for the purposes of posting here). I discovered the podcast prior to a recent trip and that along with my recent renewed interest in comics brought me along for the ride.
Currently most of my picks are from Marvel and DC, but mostly I am trying to get caught up with what is going on within the industry and who is worth reading and who is worth avoiding. I appreciate the views of others on this and hence the interest in the site.

Hello all! I've been getting into comics recently, and am quickly becoming an addict. It seems like I hand more comics to the guy at the register every week. I really enjoy listening to the podcast; thank you!

Hey!
I'm from Las Vegas and it smells like wet dog and warm piss.
I started listening to the Podcast just a few weeks ago while I'm at the gym. I'm so behind on reading comics right now that my unread pile of comics is started to take over my house. Just caught up with Hulk and that really took a turn for the worst. Like finding out your hot date was Lady GaGa the hard way =[

Hello all!
I've been listening to the podcast for over a year now and floating around ifanboy.com....Turns out that 'forum' link on the top actually leads somewhere, there's a whole other world in here! :o
Heh. Anyway, I'm Laura. Been reading comics for 5 or so years now but considering the amount of back issues I've read I think it entitles me to tack another few years on there haha. So, uh....Sup. I'll be floating around, I'm sure it'll be a pleasure :)
Hello, I'm Voo. I'm a 31 year-old Minneapolis chick obsessed with comics and most other aspects of geekdom.
Now, who can tell me why my username refuses to capitalize itself? When I login, I capitalize it. When I registered, I capitalized it. When I look at my "Display Name" in the User CP, it's capitalized. But when I post, it's not. Seriously, this is a huge pet peeve of mine. Any ideas?
I posted in the Twitter thread, but I'll reiterate here: http://twitter.com/Voo

Hey all,
I live in Roanoke, VA and have been reading comics for almost 4 years now. I don't have a super extensive knowledge of the characters, back stories, etc. but I enjoy a good story and great artwork. I work in Advertising and am easily influenced by shiny covers, glossy pages, special editions, etc. I also collect comic based toys/memorabilia because happiness is a "Rulk" figure on every desk and a Ghostbusters mini-mate near every computer.
Currently reading:
- Green Lantern (Blackest Night, GL Corps.)
- Batman & Robin (purchased this one solely on the cover...but read through it and loved it!)
- Doom Patrol
- Marvel Zombies (I think the novelty is wearing off)
- NOVA
Anyone got any suggestions of other books to check out?

Hi Mr. Castle
Well, let's see not much to say besides I'm awesome, and love breaking stuff. Oh and something about the comics, my favorites being The Walking Dead and Invincible, but I'm open to reading anything beside Manga.... I'm sorry I just like to tell if a character is a guy or girl just by looking at them.

Hello everyone.
I've been reading comics since I was about ten, read until I was thirteen then fell out of it until early two thousand and eight. If you're looking for a time reference the last thing I read as a thirteen year old was the first introduction of Onslaught. First thing I picked up again, was some Cloak & Dagger comics in a dollar bin, and then picked back up with Onslaught saga, read all of that, then read all of the Heroes Reborn books afterwards, and really had no clue what to fucking think at the end of that.
Since then, with maybe not-so disposable income in hand I've been frequenting the local comic book store two blocks away from my house and I've read the following so far.
- The whole Secret Invasion series (I read this before Civil War, and I don't really think it affected my enjoyment at all) Wondering whether or not start picking up the Dark Reign stuff.
- The Civil War series, enjoyed this a lot more then the Skrull stuff for some reason, I feel as if I need to go back and read both.
- The Deluxe Edition JLA Volume 2. Really liked this, will buy the other two soon.
- The Ultimate X-Men Book 2. It was only ten bucks, and for some reason every other Ultimate book was $30.
- Volume 1 & 2 of the BATMAN - BRUCE WAYNE: FUGITIVE books, I really liked this also.
- Green Lantern - Revenge Of The Green Lanterns
I also picked up issue #600 of Amazing Spider-Man.
Anyway, I've been loving listening to and watching the guys at iFanboy. It's been fun listening to all the what not about all the books, then seeing them all at my local store and using their judgements and opinions in comparison to what I like and what I might want to purchase, It's been helpful.
I'm in my early twenties and I'm from the middle of Canada. Looking forward to stocking up for the winter.

Just wanted to introduce myself. I collected comics as a kid in the early and mid-1980's. Mostly X-men and Spiderman, but dabbled with a few other things and then got out of it in high school.
I recently got back into this and have really enjoyed picking the hobby back up. I read pretty much all the Bat-books and X-books as well as an ever-increasing pile of indy stuff too. I even started my own blog to post comic reviews on: allthiscrap.blogspot.com You can thank my wife for the title when she says "what's going on with all this ___" on the kitchen table. Ha.
Mostly I was just amazed at how much higher quality comics are now. One, they are a better product. Two, they write stuff for adults now. But, there's still a lot of stuff for kids and I enjoy getting my kid into the hobby.
Anyhow....

hi again everyone...thought i'd say hello...
New here but not new to comics. Been collecting for over 30 years (but then haven't most of us?).
Love the works of Alan Moore, Los Bros Hernandez, Geoff Johns, Milo Manara, Grant Morrison, Moebius, Ted McKeever, and too many others to mention.
Love the Ifanboy shows (be it audio or video) because I find the guys taste in what makes a great comic similar to my own.

Hey there,
My name's Marc and I'm new to the iFanboy forum. I discovered iFanboy thanks to the Revision 3 channel on Roku. Now I'm checking out lots of Rev3 programming every week and loving it!
I've been reading comic books since 1983 and was fortunate enough to turn my hobby into a business in 2003 with the Alter Ego Comics (http://www.alteregocomics.com/) website. In 2005, I opened the Alter Ego Comics brick and mortar store in Lima, Ohio. Last month, we moved to a new, larger location and I'm planning on being there for at least 20 years :).
Keep the new iFanboy episodes coming, guys. Great stuff!

Hey!
I'm Dan, and I was introduced to iFanboy by my brother. I've been enjoying the shows and podcasts for a while now, but have only recently started an account here and on the site.
I've been reading comics since I was a kid, and have been picking up books regularly for several years. As with most art, I have pretty ecclectic taste in comics-- which is one thing I really appreciate about the show; it isn't weighted too much in favor of superhero books, indie titles, or any other specific type of comics, unlike a lot of other reviewers of comics.
So, yeah; love the show, keep it up! See you around.

My name is Christopher Darque and I just started watching iFanboy on Revision3 via my Roku box. I have to admit that most podcasts and similar things bore me to death. But for some reason the guys of iFanboy are worth listening to so I do.
I read both DC and Marvel obsessively when I was a kid. Dropped out of them for years but checked in a bit during the 90s. It took Spider-Girl to get me buying regularly along with the new JSA. Since the Golden Age Characters were the very first I ever read it was nice to see the JSA back in action.
Civil War and Secret Invasion along with the cancelling of Spider-Girl pretty much put me back out of the comics scene. But I am reading Siege so my interest is not gone.
These days I run PbP online games at a Forum called The Tangled Web. My last game was a alternative Universe where both the Marvel and DC timelines started with Captain America in WWII.

Hey all,
I've only watched a few episodes of this show and I haven't read all that many comics, but I love reading them, always have and I hope to write one someday (I'm a writer and while comics aren't my favourite medium, I still think it would be awesome). Anyway, I think this place will be good to get me more into comics or at least more aware of what I should be reading.
I'm not so much a fan of thousand-issue-long-superhero comics as I am self-enclosed stories, graphic novels - things that are different like Preacher or Fables or Sandman (which I've only read a bit of but which I love). Having said that I do love X-Men and will always enjoy reading as such.

Hello, I used to post on here quite a bit and got to be an elite member and all that. Then I moved from Tokyo to Korea, then back here to the U.S., and I am only now just catching up. I remember when iFanboy really was just one weekly review on the internet, a few discussion threads, and a phone number for Darryl to call. You really have come a long way, baby.
After over a decade in Asia, being able to go to a LCS and check out the stacks and even Wednesday is a trip and a half, love it! Love Love Love anything Pulp or Golden Age or anything channeling Golden Age or Pulp. Brubaker, Mignola, DD Bendis, Batman, Brubaker, Rucka, old school Avengers, old school DC, the Shadow and Green Hornet, Invaders oh I love the Invaders, Brubaker (did I say Brubaker?), anything by Jeff Parker, Agents of Atlas take me away, Michael Lark is fabulous you know he is, BPRD did I mention Mignola (Arcudi and Guy Davis)? My next new big thing is TinTin from the 30s. Hold an advanced degree in advanced Superhero costume fashion critique, sometimes less really is more. Kneel before Alex Toth, Kirby and Bill Everett oh you unwashed hordes, not that I'm biased or anything. I am extremely picky about art styles and have no problem passing on an extremely well written story if the art does not appeal to me, see above favorites. I also do a fair amount of drawing, sculpting, puppet/figure making, writing etc. etc. etc. BSG, Caprica, CW. Love reading other comments, hold a degree in advanced lurking, I'm right behind you, cheers!

I am new to iFanboy but they have yet to disappoint me. In general overall I am pretty new to comics but since I have started I have loved every second of it.
