It seems that if you play final fantasy 13 you are playing russian rulett with your console.
It dosn't happen to everyone, BUT for those unfortunate souls,(and i am one), you play for a random amount of time with FF13 and your system locks up, after which your blueray drive is FUBARed. It won't read games or movies.
Sony claims its a software problem with square, and square claims its a hardware problem with PS3's, and NOBODY is actually fixing the problem because they are too bussy pointing fingers back and forth, since the only fix is to send your system to sony along with $150+ to have them replace your blueray drive, and hope it dosn't happen again since they don't know what causes it in the first place, and whoever IS responsible is going to have some serious PR/lawsuit dodging to do since THOUSANDS of people have had their hardware broken by this problem and are on the hook for $150.
It appears that god of war 3 is also having freezing issues as well, so im thinking its a sony problem.
Note, its not just the old systems iether, its affecting the new slims as well, AND 360's though i don't know if their drives are being killed(don't think they are)
But in the mean time those of us affected are stuck paying what amounts to "protection money" to sony to have the privlage of playing our newest games.
Don't get me wrong, electronic parts wear out, thats true, and it could be just coincidence that i just happened to be playing this game when my hareware decided to fail. However, once you reach several hundred instances of the exact same nature, reaching to the thousands, i think you can safely throw coincidence out the window, and start looking for negligence on someones part.
This happen to anyone else here?
Just trying to get he word out there, as Sony/Square are stonewalling/denying there is a problem and will unless enough uproar is made to make them actually acknolage the problem.
This isn't Sony hate iether, i love my PS3 and i love Squares games, but this is just to much to ignore.
