View Full Version : Why do I get this screen so often? (Error Loading Your Video)

Running FireFox, any version, but currently 3.6.3, I get this screen at least 1 time everytime I try to watch a video on Rev3. I have to reload the page and sometimes it will start to play the video. Sometimes I have to reload the page 3-5 times. Other times I have to clear my cache to be able to view any video. That's the only solution I've found on the forums. Why does it seem so buggy? I love the site and will continue to watch, it's just very annoying running into this day in and day out.

Get rid of the beta version of Adobe Flash 10.1 and install the Flash 10.1 RC version.

I don't have the beta version 10.1. Currently on 10.0.45.2. This has been a problem ever since they updated the Rev3 player last year sometime. I guess I'll try 10.1 RC and see what happens.

Please flush your web browser cache.

Wow, how very informative. Maybe try reading my post next time and you would have seen that I have to do that to get videos to play sometimes. Why should I have to flush my browser cache so often? I don't run into these problems on other websites...

Have you updated to Flash 10.1 RC?
It has resolved many issues - not just with the 10.1 beta users, but users of previous versions as well.

Yup, upgraded to 10.1 RC. Still having this annoyance. I guess I'll just deal with it like I have been. I just think it shouldn't do this.

I have the exact same problem. I run Chrome usually. Tried firefox, it happens, tried internet explorer, it happens.

This is a pretty crappy problem cause i have been watching revision 3 shows religiously for about 2 years and now i cant ever get it to work.

I'm glad it's not just me. I didn't figure it was just me considering this happens on all of my computers (home, work, shop, school, laptop, wife's)

I am still having the same issue. Have been for a few months, and it is quite annoying. Yes, the cache clearing trick works, but we shouldn't have to clear the cache for every video!

I get the same error if I click a link to a show from Google reader and try and watch from there. If I go to revision3 and find my show manually I don't get this error.

On Mac in Safari. I'm running Flash 10.0 r45.

Just letting you know.

PS: 10.0.45.2 is the latest release of the Flash plug-in for Mac. Considering Adobe's history of shit beta's (on the mac), I won't run a rc version from them on my systems.

So in other words, since you don't want to "hack" your code so i can watch, you rather not have me watch?

I'm using a mac and have been having this issue for months, I just installed the adobe flash 10.1 release candidate 4 and it seemed to fix the issue.

The only caveat is to make sure you uninstall the existing installed version first.

I concur, it's a pain in the butt to deal with sporadically. It's the only video site it ever happens too. You'd think they'd figure out how to make it work like 99% of all the other players... Wait... It must be an Apple fanboy hating on flash.

Wait... It must be an Apple fanboy hating on flash.Part of the problem is that the videos get transcoded into bajillion different formats. Most sites have a "we serve it one way" type attitude, and can play it safe. Trying to find a balance between being everywhere and working on as many devices as possible means you will be continually walking a tightrope to get it right.

Flash might have been the glue that brought the web together on disparate browsers in the past, but increased adherence to standards essentially eliminates its need FOR VIDEO presentation on the web. Flash was NEVER a good idea for ads or navigation. So scratch those uses as well.

Bring on HTML5.

I hope they do start using HTML 5, I prefer it, especially because the player they're using now isn't working.
