I have 2 desktops and a laptop. I know with Windows XP I could get away with using one product key for all three and activation worked fine (even though it isn't supposed to). What I'm wondering is if anyone knows if this will be harder to do with Vista...will I have to go out and buy three copies??

Slight aside - many MS products will let you install them on both a laptop and a desktop system. Have you ever read the EULA that comes with the software ;)
Not sure if this is the case with Vista though - not going to touch Vista until I get a new machine that comes with it. More than happy with XP for now.

I'm assuming you will need 1 copy for each machine. However, Microsoft is planning on having a price drop after you buy the first copy. i.e. you pay full price for copy #1, but #2 and on are like 75% off or something like that. I'm not exactly sure where I saw it, but i remember it.

This doesn't exactly answer (http://windowsvistablog.com/blogs/windowsvista/archive/2006/11/02/news-revision-to-windows-vista-retail-licensing-terms.aspx) your question, but it is kind of related... i'll see if i can find something more, because i think i remember hearing it was 3 per copy, but definitely don't quote me on that -- yet ;)
On a side note, when i typed "How" into Google, the first suggestion that came up (as i thought what to search for) was "How to tie a tie" haha

Okay, i was wrong (http://blogs.zdnet.com/Bott/?p=166)about the 3 thing apparently.
That sucks -- not that i'm wrong, but that you can only install it (legally) on one computer at a time. That is of course, assuming zdnet is right.

Yea I agree with the link that _sorrow_ linked to. I have been running Business edition and I have ti on one computer, I have not yet put it into Boot Camp or Parallels on my Macs. (I use all operating systems, yet I feel that Macs make Windows operate like they are supposed to be) Hope I could at least give you little to some help.
