Hello,

I was wondering if anyone has read the Lost Girls, I went to buy it a few weeks ago but the comic shop didn't have it and the guy at the desk hadn't even heard of it.

The guy working at your comic shop had never heard of Lost Girls? That kinda stuff pisses me off and is why I hold most comic book shops in contempt. Many years ago, I went to buy Pedro & Me the day it came out and the guy behind the counter at the shop I went to had never heard of it either.

I bought Lost Girls. I got it at Amazon.com for about $45, which is way less than the $75 you'd have to pay at a store.

I just checked - it's $43.50 at amazon right now. You aren't going to get a better deal than that!

You know what? I'm so completely lame for doing that. Don't worry about it.

Honestly, I read the whole book, which I borrowed from Conor, and while I do see it's merits, I'm not sure I think it's something I would ever pick up very often. I mean, I'm not sure if I need to own it. But if I didn't have Conor to borrow it from, I probably would have bought it. It's certainly a well put together set of books. And it does everything the creators set out to do. So in that sense, it's definitely successul.

I feel like I could silently ponder about Lost Girls for hours in my mind. And not cuz of the dirty things, but rather the whole idea of it.

good luck with finding it, I enjoyed it a lot.
I read the first two volumes, I have no idea if there's more.

I had to hide it when my mother or girlfriend would come over, as it made me feel dirty to have it. dirty in an awesome way.
it was the exact opposite of that MGD commercial.

Zoe,
Firstly, Welcome aboard! Second, I'd give the public libraries a go unless you are certain that you;d enjoy it. $43 is a pretty significant sum. Libraries can be a great source for comics. College libraries might have them as well. My school has all 3 volumes due to their "literary significance". Hell libraries might be open to ordering them if you can pitch the merit of the book correctly. Hell, I got my college library to order Ex Machina (the first six trades because it presented alternate history and has the potential to end in a fashion befitting ancient Greek dramas from which the title was derived. I was feeling good that day and I sweet talked them into Stylish Vittles
which I presented as a premiere example of the slice of life genre. I Best of luck!
