Is being a Contractor worth paying the price? Can there even be satisfaction in finishing a game again? And what do you do if you want to make an anime about cute chicks who own a guns store, but don't know what the heck a gun store is? Find out right here!.

Ok, look I was drunk off of Zombies, and the overall mood of Anime Expo threw my entire awareness off. The dance floor was dark and loud. I had NO IDEA she was a he because of a rather convincing (to a drunk) cosplay... and when I realized it, I just walked away. That's the story. Otaku, don't drink and dance with a cosplayer you don't know.
Oh.. and the panelists review Darker Than Black.
Enjoy.

Regarding the misunderstanding that April has the power to make rain punch through people, she actually can't.
The person who died from that had the ability to move at extraordinary speed. He ended up killing himself with that ability because he accelerated at top speed into the rain. Yes he's so friggin fast that running into the rain pierced him.
Ridiculous logic yes. But at any rate that's really how he died, not because April can make rain pierce people.

i rarely post but i stand corrected... i rewatched that and ur right. oh wow. now i think that part is lame. so april's not as badass, but i have to say it would have been a shame if he ran at his "top speed" into a hovering bunch of gnats. they would have killed him too. ugh uber lame.

Awesome Unexposed choice, Jonathan & Roy!
I'm a diehard fan of Gunsmith Cats (I even have the laser discs... yeah... that bad) and manga in just about every format (Japanese tankōbon, Dark Horse monthlies, volumes, Revised, and Burst). I could do without the minimal S&M and pedophilia [in the manga] but everything else is pure unadulterated 80-90s contemporary action by a total gun otaku who heavily researched everything (gun fandom in Japan is almost a fetish given that ownership is essentially impossible... nonetheless they're intellectually engaged in the subject having monthly gun mags, airsoft replicas, and even tours to the States just to handle real arms). I even built a kit Mustang GT500 to drive around in during college.
Muscle cars, competent bounty hunters, sleezy cops, mobsters, bombs, knives, and guns... all presented in edgy action that's still tasteful (it's very easy for manga to go super dark, gorey, and angsty- but this series balances light and dark more in line with mainstream American tastes with humor and optimism to offset the violence and villains).
The Revised Edition collects the entire first series into 4 volumes about 450pgs each and only $11 on Amazon, it's a total must get for action fans who haven't heard of the series. It's "Revised" because Dark Horse originally brought this manga over before manga was mainstream American entertainment and mirrored all the pages for Western left-to-right reading and redrew many of the sound-fx in English. Revised gives you the original format, story, and a few extras.
For anime fans, there was a "pilot" of sorts to the GSC OAV in a series called "Riding Bean" who took the courier character, Bean Bandit, from GSC and made a one-shot anime based on him. In the manga he's potentially badder than Staham's The Transporter (and Staham's character is based off Bean). He drives tricked out muscle cars with hidden gadget and is, himself, a giant who specializes in knife combat and wears body armor all the time while adhering to his own Rules... his own brand of dark chivalry. The man's a monster physically. Put it this way... a taser doesn't even wake him when he's snoozing. The anime captures just a bit of his coolness and is worth a try. Again, edgy without being obscene (versus, say, Mad Bull 34 or Golgo 13).
Haha... okay, now that I'm done gushing....
Cool to hear Unwritten mentioned! And DtB is definitely on my playlist. I was gifted the set but haven't gotten around to watching it yet.

Darker than Black is awesome, very beautiful, interesting story and really cool characters. Hei is hilarious and terrifying all at the same time.
The soundtrack deserves a mention because Yoko Kanno is an absolute legend and the music here is great.

i think if your reviewing darker then black it needed to be about season 1 & 2 in general cause you need to look at it as a hole. like how the story needed to have some small plot's to show the greater plot. that's how i see it then they have the bleach thing with the talking cat but in season 2 it became a squirrel then you see the main guy as a drunk who went from a strong fighter in S1 to a weaker slower fighter who losses his power. so in full view i think darker then black is definitely a good show which needs time in order to get it well my thought's at least.

Alright guys, this was kind of a strange episode.
Just to be clear, Roy was on there for a racial joke?
Hearing Kaiji do the promo for squarespace really threw me off. Although it was funny hearing him make some of his usual remarks while advertising.
Enough of the weirdness though. As for hima segment, Laura once again throws out some good ole mature american animation. The Maxx was an awsome show. (I swear if she mentions spawn the animated series and Wizards(from bakshi), I will ask for her hand in marriage. XD)
Nick seems have let his dirty jokes fly out even more. I say keep it up, but that might mean his parts getting edited eventually. XD

I care so little for Darker than Black that I can't bring myself to bother watching the episode. Gunsmith Cats is a pretty good title for Underexposed though.

Seriously, Kaiji doesn't seem like the sales-pitch type.

I liked the look on Kaiji's face; It was priceless. :D
Overall I liked this episode. Darker than Black looks like something I would like, but I want to know a little more about it before I go out and buy it. Lastly, I'm loving the Under-Exposed segments; these segments will put me in the poor house for sure. :D

I can't believe "Gai Kurosawa" the walking film noir reference and his otaku fangirl sidekick Kiko didn't get a mention. They were PRICELESS comic relief!
Anyways, my description for Darker than Black (since everyone seemed to have trouble summarizing it):
A mysterious disaster gives people around the world super powers fueled by strange compulsions. Darker Than Black follows the stories of many people and their run-ins with these compulsive-forces-of-nature.
Good show, considering it's pedigree it was an easy purchase.

this was an excellent show very good...my gripe was that their lack of emotion was used to describe the contractors. There was never a lack of emotional response from the contractors...or the dolls (when programmed accordingly). I saw them as metaphors for soldiers everyone wants a soldier without remorse that will kill and do their bidding without hesitation...so the myth served the plot. The young yakuza episode showed that even the glass eyed dolls had a deeper side...enough on the emotion ...end of season one was a let down...was/is this a manga?

Wow, I've been watching for a while now and this is my first post. First of all why does it continuously look like you're shooting in someone's basement? And there were a few episodes where "Jonathan" not JYB was hosting the show and it seemed like no one was paying attention. What was going on there? The anime you choose seems really random. I think it's cool that you got jyb to host your show. What happende to that asian guy now he was funny and speaking of season one I didnt really care that you only reviewed bangzoom shows. at least they were good. You should keep doing that. why did you review huntik? You should review k-on. that sereies is awesome! i saw that conan obrian show about going to bang zoom and if thats the president (ketchup and mustard wearing shirt guy I think his name was Herman?) theres no wonder why the show sucks. And why is it that most of the cast doesn't seem to have a clue? That Laura chick seems dumb as dirt, Miley seems really fake, Kaiji doesn't seem to care, Bailey says she likes anime but hates Japan - anyone say hipocrite, and Christina seems to be on par with Laura. and what happened to that hot girl?

Firstly, you need to calm the freak down. If you honestly have THAT much of a problem with the show then quit watching. But you don't need to go around bashing the cast and crew for the hard work they put in to get these shows done each week. I could nitpick about your sorry excuse for a personality ALL DAY but I'm going to attempt to keep it cordial. If you don't like it, don't watch it- common sense.
Super glad ya'll did Darker Than Black, LOVE that anime! I also have to give props to Abingdon Boys School for the intro on season one and two- they really suited the show. I am really enjoying the episodes guys. Ya'll have helped me expand my list of 'Need to Watch' shows! :)
Roy, oh bud.... We all make mistakes, some mistakes are just bigger than others? xDD I wont look at you differently, but don't be surprised if you find me laughing for no reason at all ;DD

Ok let's get to work.
@Kelseyanne
Kel, youKre an angel thanks for the support and I hope I keep you rolling in laughter at my awkward moments for sometime to come. Much respect.
@profshelbs
Come on shelby, no reason to bash as much as you have, Kel is right about that much. I appreciate what you have to say, so I encourage you and your criticsm. It will be especially needed in the coming weeks for soon ANIMETV will. Be changing into something... New.
But new show formats aside, I will answer your questions with one answer;
WATCH OUR SHOW.
In the Huntik episode, I explain why I chose that show. I appreciate your enthusiasm but if you say that you are a longtime watcher, you would have known that right off the bat. Second, I apologize if you don't like the current format... Episode 21 should be an eye-popping experience.

I read profshelbs (http://revision3.com/forum/member.php?u=219107) 's post and it didn't seem hateful or bashful to me, more like an politically incorrect honest opinion. So what, he may have phrased his opinion in a less than polite manner, that doesn't mean that he made up bullshit just to piss people off. If you actually read his post in an objective manner he does describe the show in a somewhat accurate way, a very opinionated maybe unlikeable way.
@Roy You keep saying that you appreciate people's criticisms, It doesn't help your cause when you first start off by categorizing the criticism as bashing, trolling, etc. Or to praise those who would put down anyone who had anything less than admiration to offer.
@kelseyanne , In the part you quoted, it seemed to me like he was saying that he didn't like Conen Obrian, saying that show sucks. He then goes on to offer his perspective on how he sees the cast. I wouldn't agree with his perspective, i think Kaiji and Bailey are awesome, and i enjoy Miley's segments where she explains words and situations, for example. But i can understand why he would look at the cast the way he does.
Its not good motivation to be honest about the show when anything less than praise is greeted with malcontent. Its not good for the show to only be hearing half of the argument, the side that only offers praise. Its not good for the show to be ignorant of the less than brilliant aspects of itself.
The reason i felt like posting is because it didn't feel like profshelbs was bashing, to me it felt like he was bashed for offering his opinion, Of course i haven't read any of his other posts like blacksymbiote did, i'm only concerned with this post.

@RDPillz
Yo man, when someone is called "dumb as dirt" with nothing constructive to say- then I would consider it bashing. I ainbt too siprised especially when you jumped on the bandewagon to get me fired. So yees I want to hear why someoine doesn't lkike the show. Its even more founded when someone syas they watch the episodes yet asks questions that could be answered if they just watch the show.
Its even funnier you say I categoprize yet in a way validate Bsymbiotes post regarding actively calling shelbs a troll, then again I am not suprised. I apologize if I say don't be harsh to someone who jjust ibnsulted people outright. I am sorry if that is a little hardd to compute but common courtesy is what I believe in.

what i believe in is that there is 2 sides of every coin, You have people that seem to like every aspect of the show and you also have people who don't. Just because you don't like every aspect dose not mean that there isn't something about the show that brings ya back every week. Me, i am not a very politically correct person. I only try to speak my mind in a way that makes sense to me. In that way i could relate to said post. You seem to take it very personally the opinions of a person who doesn't even know you. Nobody is judging you as a person, just describing what they see on the podcast.
I don't recall jumping on the bandwagon to get you fired, i just thought your alleged joke wasn't funny and thought it was more appropriate to post in that thread than in the episode thread, sorry.
For me it seems that people are only welcome to post praise in this forum. You say you appreciate criticism but you'll attack anyone who does and then say...' but your input is appreciated'. Its like your way of saying 'f*** you, have a nice day'.
Symbiote called him a troll based on posts that i haven't read and had no intention to read, i figured i should point out that i was only referring to this one post and not whatever previous history symbiote was referring to.

Yes there are two sides to every coin but if you are being rude there is a difference. Isn't the rule- "If you don't have anything nice to say don't say anything at all"? True they do welcome constructive criticism but if you are being just downright disrespectful of a person don't complain when you're called out.
