Gads! Get your ass off the holy grail! The grail was buried UNDER the pyramids. Thats not the grail, just a marker.
BTW - The Louvre is overrated and over crowded (OK, it has lots of cool stuff too), but the real cool art museum in Paris is the D'Orsey.

I think the Louvre is the second best museum value in the world. There are very few places that you can see multiple famous artworks spanning human history for one comparatively low ticket price. The only real drawback is that there is too much to see in just a day. Many tourist go there and go right for the famous stuff, like the Michaelangelos and the Davincis. Sabrina and I spend a quiet morning just going through the ancient Babylonian stuff, almost completely alone. The Musée d'Orsay is cool. It is not as crowded and you can see the whole place in an afternoon. The drawback is that you can't reenter and there is long lines at the food places.
I love traveling in Europe, but there are a lot of "micro-museums". Small places with maybe one or two important works that cost like $5 each. Brugges is famous for this. You end up visiting about a dozen of these places in a day and your pocketbook begins to feel the pinch. Many places you cab get these combination-tickets for entry into all the sites in a particular town. This is not a bad deal.
The best Museum value in the world... The Smithsonian. It's hard to beat free baby.

Next time you say the Louvre is overrated, I'ma chuck my art history books at you so you can see that the MAJORITY of the pieces are from the Louvre. Jesus tap dancing Christ.

I don't think he meant the content was over-rated. Just the Louvre as a Museum going experience. I can understand that.

Already done so - thanks for the comments guys. I intend to go to Musee D'Orsay the next time I go to Paris, which shouldn't be in too long.
If you guys are going to digg these pictures, please link them somewhere else though - I'm hoping my server can be up to show my family the pictures from my trip. Digg effect would be a real shame.

As someone that loves and appreciates art, seeing the evolution of art history in all its mediums was amazing. Personally, while appreciative of the art presented at the Louvre, I am more of a fan of the impressionist art at the d'orsay (along with their collection of art deco furniture and art glass).
