If this is a repost I sincerely apologize.

What are the specs on Alex's Falcon Northwest? Kevin's BlackBook is pretty simple to figure out since Macs have standard specs but did Alex ever bring up any of his Falcon's specs. I'm just curious, in this day and age of "shiny-happy-Vista" boxes what his laptop looks like. He wants Vista on there and when his friend in the OEM department of Microsoft wants the Tablet back: will he be able to install Vista on there all shiny and happy or will it make his machine cry like putting Vista on mine would?

I'm not sure what the specs are. But more than likely he'll be able to run Vista. The requirements for Vista are not all that bad, yes they are a lot larger than for XP, but now a days everyone should have a computer that can handle it, unless your running on some 8 years or older beast.

Here's the deal though, my laptop is a 2 year old Toshiba P30 and I installed the "Vista Transformation Pack" which was really sweet and looked all sexy and shiny for 2 weeks but somehow, lately my computer has been runing like sludge.

Full Specs:

Intel Pentium 4 532 3.06 GHz 1MB L2 Cache
512 MB PC2700 RAM
128 MB ATI Mobility Radeon 9700 (Running Omega Drivers)
Integrated AC97 Sound
Atheros 802.11 a/b/g
Matshita DVD-RAM
60 GB HDD
250 GB USB Exteral HDD

I'm sure I'm forgetting something but that's roughly all that's important. I know I can *run* Vista but it will likely be dog ass slow and without shiny-happy Areo glass.

My advice is to e-mail them or hopefully Alex will come here and post but thats does not happen very often.

It's probably a Fragbook TL, pretty recent. I doubt it'll have any problems running Vista. The hoo-ha about the huge systems requirements are inflated IMO. If you have a recent machine, it'll run Vista.
