How does dropbox for the droid handle media files like pictures. I know you mentioned it can stream music just like the iPhone version but can I view all the pictures as thumbnails in my dropbox or atleast open them without having to save to the phone?
I ask because if you have a ton of picture folders and are too lazy to name all of them then the list view would make it really annoying to find the pic I was looking for. You would have to know the file name, the iphone app shows you thumbnails and allows you to pinch to zoom and open pics without saving to the phone. The interface that I saw left something to be desired for the Android version. It's just another port of an iPhone app that came out what, a year ago and seems to have a weaker interface. It's good that it came out but is still one of the reasons I am still compelled to stick with apple.
Also, why is everyone so gaga over dropbox anyway? Haven't any of you tried any other file/cloud/sync tools. My personal favorite is Sugarsync, it's cheaper has a much better mobile app (atleast on the iPhone) and gives you more space. Their free 2gb account allows unlimited computers to sync with, whereas dropbox only allows two unless you pay. Dropbox is expensive!, 9.99 a month minimum for 50gigs while sugarsync starts at 4.99 a month for 30 gigs. I don't need 50gigs of cloud storage so it saves quite a bit of money. Dropbox is a cool solution but Rev3 makes it seem like it's a one of a kind service.
