Guys
I have always loved this show and always like to share it with foodies because there are som few people who have seen it. It is a show about Gordon Ramsay following him before he got really really famous and I have to say it is a brilliant but of fly on the wall documentary that show just how nasty MF he actually is! There are a few more on Youtube that you can watch but here is one to get you started....

honestly, not too surprised by this. im sure he's a tad happier at times now b/c he has an assload of $$$, which does help stress, but you're right about it being an interesting look inside what he's like outside of america's full on 100% edited/scripted shows. nice find, thanks

Yeah I always cringe a little when I see him in the USA because you are right in that it is just so scripted. He is much much better on UK TV when he is not putting on a complete act!

I've seen "Boiling Point" before. The followup "Beyond Boiling Point" is good too.
Some people are just born assholes, but I suspect that Ramsay's tirades are a reflex to the kitchen environments he was trained in - a defined pecking order chefs (brigade system?).

Training under marco pierre white would do that to someone. I'm actually surprised by how chubby gordon ramsay is here... he's such a health nut

Middle age spread prompted him to train for marathons. Look at Gordon now ... and take a look at Jeff Cannata on TRS. Similar training. Similar physique.

I watched the first 3 episodes (all 3 parts) and I noticed his outbreaks are quite the same as they are in Hell's Kitchen (US reality TV Show).

Yeah apparently Marco was pretty much as nasty and full on as they get! Bit of a cliche but he is apparently thr chef who made Gordon cry! Yeah he does look a lot bigger back here doesn't he!

The problem is not his outbreaks, not really. I mean you get that in a lot of bosses. The problem is instead of blowing up and letting it go he nags at you. I can deal with a punch in the gut but nagging makes me want to blow something up.

I think he knows this, and this is why he does it. By making a mistake it makes him want to blow something up as he's a perfectionist (self-proclaimed) therefor he wants you to feel the same thing he's feeling. Just my thoughts...

I thought he nagged at them to make them feel as stupid as possible for making the mistake.
However, all of those people followed him to his new restaurant so it can't all be bad.
