Hey Wil I just installed ubuntu on one of my laptops IBM R40. First time with Linux and having a hard time making a RPM file of this app
http://comical.sourceforge.net/
I really think a Linux video podcast would help out a lot of people to switch to Linux.
Keep up the good work on InDigital!!!

Keep up the good work on InDigital!!!Do you mean a podcast about how to use video tools in Linux? Or do you mean a podcast about choosing a distro, installing, configuring, and living with it from day to day?

More of podcast about choosing a distro, installing, configuring, and living with it from day to day? But Video tools would be cool also.
Linux show kind of like Call for Help kind of. I'll watch anything about Linux just looking for a better way to learn Linux.

For what it's worth, I think this would be a great idea for a show.

I have a name for the show "Linux 911"

I don't see us doing an entire show just about Linux, or even a series just about Linux (as great as Linux is, and as passionate as Linux users are, the numbers just aren't there right now to justify a show dedicated to the it) but a segment that touches on topics like choosing a distro, installing it, and the like would be informative and fun to do.
I'll add this to the list of segments I'd like to do at some point, and discuss it with the rest of the crew to figure out when we can do it.

I do doing a show about Linux is preposterous. I full of love for the Linux OS, but a show about Linux is about a marketable as a show about dental floss. Linux is just an OS, it's not that sexy.
Spotlighting cool Linux aps... that's another story. However, I think InDigital is mostly about tech devices and less about software.
I did like the Myth-box that Wil talked about in episode 9.

For those of you that may be interested and yet don't know about it, there is a podcast called The Linux Action Show. http://www.linuxactionshow.com/
They talk about open source software and everything Linux. Some topics are dry but overall it's quite informative.

i feel a pure linux show would be overkill but i also feel a pure windows or mac show doesn't work either. now on the other hand i think a one off show with an informative comparison would be nifty keen.

I agree a show about linux on indigital doesn't make sense, but perhaps a new show from Revision3 might make sense. I think it would be cool to have a segment following a newbie through Ubuntu. Long ago it was all about the install, but now it's about what to do next and how. Multimedia is what is being pushed from every other OS manufacturer. Just my 2 cents.

Side note can we all agree that video podcast is a little meh... how about IPTV Show or IPTV Program. Or hell why not just show or program. Im trying out new terms cause Video Podcast or Vodcast ppl kind of get hung up on that in conversation where as the unacquainted to this side of entertainment seem to get IPTV stuff.
