I'm about to start a pull list after about a year and a half and was wondering what everyone has on their lists and some titles I should be looking at.
My plan is for:
Daredevil
Astonishing X-Men
Amazing Spider-man
Captain America
Fantastic Four
X-Men
Cable and Deadpool
Sensational Spider-man
Uncanny X-Men
Runaways
New Avengers
Punisher War Journal
X-Factor
Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man
On the fence about:
The Ultimate titles
Batman
Fables
Criminal
Anything I shouldn't bother with here or missing titles I should check out.

I cannot recommend Criminal enough. It's only three issues in, so you can easily catch up.
We've picked it twice as our Pick of the Week:
http://www.ifanboy.com/archive/pickoftheweek/10042006_crimin.html
http://www.ifanboy.com/archive/pickoftheweek/11012006_crimin.html
Ultimate Spider-Man is the only Spider-Man monthly worth reading, in my opinion. That's something you'd have to go back and get trades of, though.
Ron and I very famously ragged on Josh about liking Fables on one of our shows but then went out and bought the first trade ourselves and really liked it.
The issues of Batman by Grant Morrison have been quite good:
http://www.ifanboy.com/archive/pickoftheweek/09272006_batman.html
And everyone who listens to our show regularly and visits iFanboy knows what is coming - Invincible by Robert Kirkman is the best superhero book on the market, period.
Also, every Tuesday (or so) we have a discussion on iFanboy.com about what people are buying that week and lots of interesting recommendations come out of that. I've picked up things I wasn't planning on after reading those discussions. Funnily enough, it's called "What's on Your Pull List". Here's the latest: http://www.ifanboy.com/archive/weblog/january_24th_20.html

Walking Dead: Every time a new collection of this series comes out, it is always at the top of my must-read list. Just when you are feeling some level of comfort and sense of ease with this story, Kirkman turns your world upside down. Highest possible recommendation.
Plastic Man: Unfortunately, this series was canceled. Ironically, it was one of the few DC stories that consistently received Eisner Award after Eisner Award each year. Kyle Baker hilariously spoofs the rest of the DC universe. Only the first five or so issues were collected in TPB.
Super F$$$$$S: James Kochalka writes and draws arguably the best teen team book around. Team members combat one another for top-dog position with group, doing nothing but sitting around and arguing who has the coolest powers. Has to be read to be believed.
The Savage Dragon: If there was only one book I would purchase each month, this would be it! Erik last is the last man standing of the founding Image members, writing, drawing, and evening recently coloring and lettering this book. Characters come and go; the story has changed over periods ranging from Dragon's days as: police officer; government sponsored group, unemployed; destroyer of world; presidential candidate; destroyer of worlds. A joy to read.
Youngblood: Bloodsport: Only one issue of this series has been published? Liefeld managed to get Mark Millar to write this three issue series. Issue no. 1 came out Jul. 2002; Issue two is scheduled for Spring 2007 (long time between drinks). The story focuses upon YB members vying for a spot on the new team. The way to do this? Kill off other members! If you like Liefeld's art - this is as good as it gets! Jimmy Jay states this story brings to a close this era of YB. When will third issue be published.....
Obviously, I have many other favorites, but these are my stand-out picks.

Well, some of your books will be ending on their own in a few more issues anyway: Ion, Justice, Spider Man Loves Mary Jane, NA Illuminati, Ultimate Vision, Civil War, CW Frontline, Uncle Sam, 1602.
As for the others, and this is just my own personal opinion, I say drop Wonder Woman once Heinberg is gone, dump All Star Batman for obvious reasons, drop UFF and Ultimate Power unless you are really digging them.
So that's 13 books fewer than before, right?
Everything else looks pretty good to me. I say keep them and add a few more. If you like Illuminati you may want to get New Avengers and Mighty Avnegers. Since you are getting some of the Ultimate stuff I say go for USM and Ultimates. You like Batman so you should pick up Detective Comics - it has been great lately when Dini is writing it. Daredevil is awesome - I always recommend it. Last but definitely not least, if you want to branch out from superheroes there are a bunch of Vertigo books that are great: Fables, Y The Last Man, Exterminators, DMZ, 100 Bullets. Anyway, that should be a good start!

Seriously? I mean it was one issue....years ago. This story will never be finished. I mean, if you like it fine, but do you really think this is a good jumping on point for someone who doesn't really love Youngblood?
I can't support this recommendation. However, the other stuff you said is bang on, especially about Walking Dead.

I'm sure there are a couple books in there where you just don't know what happened the issue before, and don't really care what happens next. Think about the things you're not excited about. Oddly enough, the book I can't seem to drop, even though I don't think I've really enjoyed it in a long time, is Hellblazer. And I feel a little like I'm the only one reading it at all.

Um.. I think Conor hit it on the nail.. I want to drop Wonder Woman story wise but I love the art so far. i've been disappointed ever since Phil Jimenez left Wonder Woman.. Plus, she's my girl liket that.. :D New Avengers, i'm getting in trades since it has to be either all floppies or all graphic novels like that when i collect something.. Fables, I have the first trade but didn't finish since it wasn't Lan Medina doing the art. Ultimate Power is a mini-series isn't it? Is it too late to start Daredevil?
Thanks for the suggestions. :)
never too late to start daredevil

What do you guys think of Birds of Prey and Hulk? Yea or Nay?
What about some independent titles? I just realized its been ages since I read an independent title...
I read Hulk. It's good. don't know about Birds of Prey. you should check out walking dead and invincible

YB: Bloodsport: I wanted to put at least one Liefeld in there.....perhaps wait for the TPB. Coming 2011!
Other recommendations:
Criminal: I got hooked on Sean Phillips when I read his Wildcats run. I didn't know what to make of it at first, considering it stands in stark other Homage artists who had worked on this title. Then there was his work with Brubaker on Sleeper. Criminal is fantastic. It creeps up on you, and as the reader, you are just along for the read. I consider Phillips to be one of the best artists out there.
Godland: I started reading Myth of Opus-8 by Scioli, and immediately fell in love with it. Godland is a wild ride in the tradition of Kirby and Lee, and constantly entertains. Joe Casey does a fantastic job at putting a modern spin on the characters and stories. I always look forward to this title with giddy glee. "Biscuits and gravy...how could any human could eat so much white flour...!"
Invincible: For those of you, like myself, who LOVED the Ditko and Lee run on Spiderman - this title is for you! It is everything that superhero books can be - fan, entertaining, caring, and sometimes violent. Kirkman and Ottley are a great team, and like Walking Dead, this book comes full of surprises!
One more things to recommend. Recently on iFanboy, Uncanny X-Men Omnibus was examined, and how the book finished in the middle of the Dark Phoenix Saga. Well, it looks like Marvel has heard fans protests: the upcoming Amazing Spider-Man Omnibus will contain all of the Ditko / Lee run (no. 1 - 38, plus Annuals). Congratulations Marvel!
Criminal is very good. It's only 4 issues in too so it shouldn't be to hard to pick up

waaaaaaaaaaiiit wait wait wait. Ultimate Spiderman...CURRENTLY...is the ONLY Spiderman monthly worth reading? I hope you don't dislike Straczinsky's Spidey, because since he started he has written the best Spiderman ever written. Ever. Seconded by the fool who wrote Kraven's Last Hunt. Wow, though.
Straczinsky has a grasp and an understanding of Spidey for who he is and who he always has been. He never drags the character away from things he would do and has the amazing inner monologue of Peter Parker that we have grown to know and love.
His dialogue seems more "real" and not forced than almost any comic out there, and once again the Spidey "inner banter" is absolutely amazing. It is very true to the character and to a young male's thought processes.
GAH! Buddy, we been cool, but you gotta explain!
Love, Brian :)
I've liked JMS on ASM since 529. I think it's been good.
now JMS on FF
totally different story

I really should be getting ready for a night out on the town, so this will have to be brief:
I really enjoyed JMS' opening run on Amazing Spider-Man. It was one of my favorite monthly reads up until the Spider Totem garbage followed closely by the "Gewn Stacy had a baby with Norman Osborn" story which I hated so much I dropped the book. I came back for the Road to Civil War and Civil War tie-ins because Ron and Josh raved so much about them. They have been really good up until (a) JMS completely lost the CW continuity, and (b) he started repeating the same scenes over an over - Peter feels conflicted about a decision, he talks to MJ and is still conflicted and then the Aunt May offers some sage advice and Peter suddenly knows what to do. I feel like I've read that scene in every other issue. JMS' problem has never been his dialogue, it's always very good. To me, his problem is that, eventually, the plot flies off the rails.
The other thing is that I am not a fan in general of older, high school teacher, married to a famous supermodel/actress Peter. I don't like that character. When he has long inner monologues worrying about his life I just want to slap him back to reality. I prefer young Spider-Man the screw up. That's the Spider-Man I like to read about and that's why I prefer the Ultimate Spider-Man character. Aging Peter Parker and having him get married (allegedly because the writers wanted more in Peter that they could relate to) was the single worst thing that Marvel has ever done, editorially.
