Do all Toshiba laptops have flimsy lids?

Or is it just my Toshiba Satellite A40-S270? It's a couple years old and the lid can barely stand up its own. If I flex it a bit it can settle in an upright posistion, but a freaking breeze can knock it back. It has 2 not so wide hinges and one in particular seems looser, and when I open/close the lid I hear snapping.

And I've seen pics of other Toshiba models with similar hinges; so do they all get crappy with age? Anyway to fix it?

Most of the new Toshiba notebooks are designed and built by ASUS these days. I have a 4 month old ASUS z96j and most of the new Toshiba notebooks look and feel exactly like mine. That said I can say that I have had no problems with the hinges and they are very stiff. Hope that makes you feel a bit better.
