It's not even "Widescreen" per definition, it's a wide aspect ratio monitor.
And I can bet you a nice sum of cash that every wide tft monitor(for computers) in the world is 16:10, a standard which derives from spreadsheet DTP-work not movie watching. TVs on the other hand is 16:9.

Either which way, still larger than my monitor...

... and still capable of displaying movies at the 16:9 ratio and filling the screen, while still allowing for the "pop up" control panels that slide up when controlling a movie.

Yes, that's sweet.
Was only tryin to point out that Alex reasoning didn't make any sense to me. "I have a 4:3 monitor because I don't watch movies on my computer..." and "...my laptop has 16:9...". But he cut's film and plays games and that can, by my terms, only benefit from more horisontal screen realestate.

doeboy, I think his point was that the only reason he would want a 16:9 monitor is to watch movies on, which he doesn't watch movies on his computer.

speaking off 16:9, the iPod is less wide than 16:9, it's 1:1.5

I think he was talking about his Falcon when he said that, not the tablet.
