darren,

wonderful episode re: Smoothwall.

we were insired to find micro-atx mother/ps/cases which could almost resemble an appliance.
which brings me to the point.

has anyone found a smaller than HTPC case which is more fitting an appliance look?

also has anyone hacked around with smoothwall to get it installed via USB?

regards,
Dr Lars

Try installing it on a sandisk. they look like a cd rom drive to a lot of machines. You could probably install it on a thin client and look like an appliance.

This (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811121027) looks like a good case @ 4" thick should fit appliance size, especially in vertical mode. I also was looking into m-ATX so I wouldn't have to setup another system for wireless AP-just add a wireless NIC in purple slot during smoothwall install and it should be good to go. I'd like confirmation on the USB stick install too since I don't have a 5.25" enclosure sitting around.

But wait...the case I mentioned earlier has a CD/DVD ROM slot-sweet!

if you want something small, just buy an asus eee pc, or an asua eee box, and go from there
