Thank GOD. I couldn't get through 15 minutes of the first episode!

BladeGets The Spike

Spike TV confirmed to SCI FI Wire reports that its original series Bladehas been canceled. "Yes, that's true," a Spike representative said in an interview on Sept. 29. "It won't be renewed for a second season. I can tell you that Spike TV was very happy with the creative part of Blade. The cast, the actual production. We absolutely enjoyed working with New Line and [executive producer] David Goyer, [writer] Geoff Johns. But honestly, the network was disappointed with the audience turnout and the ratings. But I can tell you that New Line is going to be issuing a DVD of the entire season." No date was announced for the DVD.

The statement confirmed rumors first posted by co-star Jill Wagner on her MySpace.compage, according to a report on the THEOcracyWeb site. The post in which Wagner (Krista Starr) reports the news is only visible to Wagner's friends. The news was also reported on Ain't It Cool News.

The series was quietly put to sleep after the end of its first 13-episode season. The show was based on the Blademovies and the Marvel Comics character, with Kirk "Sticky" Jones playing the title character. Wagner played his counterpart, a former soldier who becomes a vampire but struggles to retain her humanity

Apparently, their hype on the UFC Fight Night Live didn't help much.

Well, for me at least, the commercials did not help with the hype. They only made me laugh. So, I do believe the show was doomed from the start to be short lived.

It was a pretty interesting story with the all the side plots that were going on, but all the romance crap was just waaay too soap opera like.

Noooooooo! That show was awesome. ****. Why didn't they cancel something useless. Shows like The Biggest Loser can stay on the air; why not Blade?

Oh, that's easy...the masses like to feel good about themselves and they can get that feel-goodness from the Biggest Loser. No one wants a good story these days...SHEESH. :D

Because The Biggest Loser seems to have the formula for TV shows during this time - it's a reality show.

the name of that show really annoys me though actually probably cos i'm just thinking of it in terms of "you're a loser! you've never amounted to anything"

That sucks. I liked it. It wasn't a great show, but it had good elements. Shen, the sidekick, was very cool. The villain was cool, although for a while I did feel a bit like he was a repackaged Deacon Frost, but they were fleshing out the character nicely. Although, the reomance factor there was dragging it down a bit.

Oddly enough, Jones (Blade) was the weakest link in the cast, I think. He grew on me near the end of the series though.

Im sure someone has already questioned this and your taste in general for watching the biggest loser, but why are you so happy that a show you couldnt even get through 15 minutes of is canceled?

What I saw of the show seemed OK. Something to get me through another summer of repeats. But the show was missing something that I just could not put my finger on. Partly because Spike is just not part of my normal rotation.

Soon as I heard that the dude from ONYX was going to be blade I knew this would be shitty. I tried to like it, I watched the first couple of episodes, didn't like it, moved on with my life. Now Blade is canceled, I am so shocked.

I refuse to feel bad for liking Biggest Loser, it's inspiring me to stay motivated to be healthy.

I watched the first couple of shows and hated them. Then I came back to it about a month later, caught up with it and got hooked.

I guess I didnt mention this before, but I liked the show I havent got around to finishing it yet but I liked it. The show runners were going to integrate the rest of the Marvel Universe into the show after they finished up the first season, and that would have been really cool to see people like Moon Knight on tv since he was mentioned in the first episode.
