My list of Entertainment to Look Forward to in '07 continues to grow, be it comics, movies, music, tv. A few recent highlights:

COMICS: The Black Detective Agency (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/1596431423/ref=wl_it_dp/002-1611944-8383252?ie=UTF8&coliid=I176QUJYTOQHSX&colid=L3SUK9XC5Z0A). By Eddie Campbell, a turn-of-century noir mystery, set in Chicago. How can this not be awesome.

MOVIES: Zodiac (http://www.revision3.com/forum/newthread.php?do=newthread&f=20). Directed by David Fincher (Se7en, Fight Club), story of the legendary serial killer, cast includes Robery Downey Jr and Clea Du Vall. True crime, skillful director, interesting actors. Right in my wheelhouse.

MUSIC: We Were Dead Before The Ship Even Sunk by Modest Mouse. Stream the first single here (http://www.modestmousemusic.com/). I realize music is the least unifying of topics, with very subjective tastes, but there are a lot of new releases by other top bands coming: Arcade Fire, Bloc Party, Wilco, Clap Your Hands Say Yeah.

TV: The Sopranos (http://www.hbo.com/sopranos/). The denouement. 'Nuff said.

What are you looking forward to, the anticipation of which keeps you warm and free from cabin fever during these winter months?

Only thing on my radar for '07 is 300. This movie looks amazing.

Comics: The Brave and The Bold, All Star Wonder Woman, and All Star Batgirl.

Movies: 300, TMNT, Transformers, Spider Man 3.

I'm so out of touch with music now. :(

Wow. Am I the only one that thinks that 300 looks like utter crap?
Nothing in that preview even happens at the right speed. I don't want to watch a movie in slow motion.
Nope.

I'm looking forward to the DVD releases of Shortbus, Half Nelson, Flags of Our Fathers, Little Children and a couple of other movies.

As for comics, I'm looking forward to the end of Civil War, so that we can put this ugly company spanning episode behind us. Supposedly #7 just got pushed back further.

When does it come out now? Where was it announced? I missed it

Yes, you are. I saw the first 30 minutes of it last week....no offense, bro, but prepare to eat your words.

Conor's right.
I'll paypal $5 to IFanboy if 300 rules. If it sucks ass, as I expect, all of you owe me $5.
Sound fair?

Can't wait for Half Nelson myself - Hollywoodland comes out soon, too.

While I can't speak for the iFanboys themselves, I'd be more than willing to accept your challenge, sir.

I'd be in if it weren't totally subjective. Someone needs to develop a formula that evaluates the relative merit of a film

Agreed, I was trying to figure that out. I figure some kind of vote, it'd just be a matter of who votes and how.

fred

It should be scientific so that people don't vote one way or another just to bust someone balls

something like

good = (number of people pushed off of cliff / minutes in length) * (3.142857/budget)

if good>100

movie good

else

movie bad

Is it too early to ask whether there will be a 300 podcast like there was for last year's comics movies?

Taken to the nth power, where n = # of slow motion deaths.

I'd say the chances are excellent.

Another for the lilst - from April Previews, this sounds awesome in a Project X kind of way (and yes, that could be a reference to both the manga books and the Matthew Broderick movie):

First in Space by James Vining (Oni Press).

Extensively researched, First in Space is based on the true-life adventures of Ham, a chimpanzee the Americans trained for the first sub orbital flight. The story follows his training and experiences through the launch, as well as those of the other chimps and trainers involved. Because it is Ham's exciting adventure, it is told primarily through his eyes, along with anecdotal information that provides a snapshot of that time in America's conquest of space.
