I have decided that this 2001 classic is perhaps the greatest gem of our generation. It's SO formulaic, and SO ridiculous in such a consistent way that I cannot look away. The dialog and acting are so wooden, that I don't advise smoking around this movie. The technical jargon in this movie is fantastical. If they were ever going to do an MST3K reunion, I'd be hard pressed to find a better modern film. I will, in no way, deny its entertainment value. And it's taken completely seriously. There's no tongue in cheek humor in this movie. No winking. They really think they're cool.

I salute you Fast and Furious.

"I live my life a quarter mile at a time. Nothing else matters: not the mortgage, not the store, not my team and all their bullshit. For those ten seconds or less, I'm free. "

"Ask any racer, any real racer. It doesn't matter if you win by an inch or a mile; winning's winning."

this was a fantastic terrible movie.

and on the mst3k thing, the guy from the show(I think Mike Nelson rather than Joel) is doing a new version of MST3K called rifftrax. It's really ghetto though. He sells downloadable audio tracks that play alongside new movies you've rented. It's their way around paying the licensing fees and doing newer films.

I have never seen this movie before.

It is possible that it is on TV right now and it is possible that Josh and I are watching it at work.

And it is possible that this might be the greatest bad movie I have seen in years.

(It is also possible that this movie is a complete ripoff of Point Break)

You want real bad good movie - watch 2 Fast 2 Furious (now with extra Ludacris)
I have never seen Tokyo Drift(the thrid installment) but only because my wife was like enough already

Vin Diesel is my god and Paul walker is his prophet.

I NEED NOS.

My favorite part is how he is messing with his laptop in a race that only last 10 seconds...

My personal favorite for bad movie is Battlefield Earth. It's just so.... horrible.

As for The Fast and the Furious, I've never seen it. With it the 'recommendations' here, I may have to rent it at some point.

All of the races take waaaaaaaaay longer than they are represented to take. The laptop is a perfect example. Zen and the art of street racing.

You know what pisses me off about Vin Diesel? He makes great terrible movies but one of them has done me an unintentional injustice. In the movie XXX, his character's name is Xander something or other. My son's name is Zander. This two facts are entirely unrelated. But still, morons have asked me many times if I named him after Vin Diesel in XXX. Seriously, if you're that retarded you probably shouldn't have children for their sake and ours. Why would I do that?

One word about Buffy and I'll scream. It's not that either.

How does one assemble this many bad performances? They're chewing the scenery like starving zombies.

I SO want to see the sequels.

you ain't seen nothin' yet

after these check out XXX. I can't vouch for the second where they replaced Vin Diesel with Ice Cube(is the difference really that obvious?) but the first is terrificly bad.

Man, I wish I could do the same... currently I'm the 'major risk' for the project I'm on as I have like 8 million things due this week and I'm on pager duty. I really shouldn't even be here. But, I mean, I can't not.

I can't tell you how much I don't even like to describe my job to people. I wouldn't be too jealous.

Then again, this is my view from Manhattan. Forgive the combination of camera phone and glare.

I work in one of the coolest looking buildings in my city, but I'm stuck in the basement where lunch is my only respite for actual sunlight.

This second movie isn't nearly as much fun. It's just bad. But not bad in a fun way. The first one took itself so seriously. This one's just dumb.

I work from home. urrently sitting in front of the fire, my dog at my feet, my budgie taking its first steps outside the cage by itself ... prepping responses to an RFP, and watching ST:TNG on Spike. If I'd known Fast and the Furious was on USA earlier, I would have been watching that instead.

2F2F would ahve been OK as well, but now its too late ... and a stupid Steven Segal movie is on. I swear he makes Gary Coleman look like an Academy Awarded actor, and GWB look intelligent.

Stephen Seagal sucks so much that they don't even release his 'movies' in theaters anymore. He had 3 direct to dvd 'movies' this past year.

How does he even rope anyone into doing that?

Seconded. Not nearly as much fun to make fun of.

Yeah the 2nd movie was stupid, the third one was good though. Not as good as the first, but what do I know, I liked it!

Add The Transporter and The Transporter 2 to this list.

On the Segal note, anyone watch Rescue Me? If any case Segal was referenced in one of the episodes and it was hilarious.

2 Fast 2 Furious > Bad Boys 2

I've only seen Bad Boys 2 without audio while projected at the back of a club. That might have increased my enjoyment of it (which was not a lot to begin with).

Oh, it was a big club and the movie was just projected on one of the walls of one of the dance floors. It wasn't like the main draw. I think Tomb Raider was on after.

But I'll go to a club when the mood strikes.

You will refer to this movie by its proper title or not at all: 3 Fast 3 Furious.

Also, The Core ranks high as a brilliantly terrible movie.

"... but what if we could?"

All I remember from The Core was wondering why they didn't just make the space movie they so obviously wanted to.

How does Steven Segal get people in hims movies? Money. Lots of money. I used to work in a rental store, people are that crap with a spoon and asked if I loved it too.
