Just thought I would forward a problem some of us are facing trying to watch food mob.....

Original thread:
http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=34460

My girlfriend and I enjoy(ed) watching foodmob on the "big screen" via a Roku box. All was well until episode 9. The audio drops out on all episodes after 9. Posted on the technical support forum and others have chimed in with the same problem. However we have received no response. It appears that the Revision 3 technical support forum is rather dead. Just curious if something changed in the way the show is formated that would cause the audio to drop out.

We do not have any problems with the other Rev3 shows and sorely miss FoodMob. Any help would be appreciated.

It didn't happen on the Ramen show but it has been a regular and annoying event. I have mentioned it many times before but these forums are not monitored much from what I can tell. If you have a fb account you might want to mention it there or on twitter.

Hey Guys,

I send the same file every week formatted in the way the guys at Rev3 need it. They actually sent me a compressor droplet which makes sure its the same every week. They noticed a difference and asked me was i still doin the same process, i was but there must have been something wrong somewhere along the way. I think the problem has been sorted now, if there are problems like this in the future, let us know here, we do read all the comments, i just dont like commenting, I've got editing to do!

Hopefully everything is good from now on and apologies on this weeks show, probably the must unlucky week ever! But it works pretty well!

This week's show... shortly after the shepherd's pie went in the sound started hiccuping.

Onion soup and chicken parm episodes have the audio drop out issue as well.

For those of us that enjoy Food Mob on the "big screen" via a Roku player there is hope! Ditch your HDMI connection. If you are experiencing complete audio drop out you probably have the Roku connected to your TV with an HDMI cable. For whatever reason, the encoding of Food Mob seems to conflict with the Roku player and specifically the HDMI output. Use the component video output and the analog audio outputs of the Roku instead. The audio still has some annoying clipping but at least it 'stays'.

As a side bar, I hooked my Macbook Pro up to several TVs using a Moshi HDMI adapter and HDMI cable and this setup also has the problem.

I am not going to change my connection for a single show. It doesn't happen on any of the other Rev3 shows I watch. Fix it Aaron!

I don't think it's Aaron's fault. I've noticed several times that some versions of the shows, like XviD Large, will have audio or speed issues, while the Large MP4 version of the exact same show plays perfectly. Then next week the XviD large will be fine again.

There must be an encoding issue with whatever version they serve to the Roku box. But it has to be on Revision3's end as they're the ones who encode all the different versions.

Well I hope Aaron is telling them that roku viewers are having problems because it is hard to watch past the point where it begins.

Yeah, I kinda hope they can fix it. But I can appreciate how immpossible it would be to keep up with the myriad of different methods of video delivery available today.
