Looking at how things are sizing up (http://www.huffingtonpost.com/chris-weigant/senate-midterm-election-o_b_687073.html), wondering
among s (http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/content/article/2010/08/21/AR2010082101591.html)o many (http://abcnews.go.com/PollingUnit/2010_Elections/poll-2010-midterm-elections-incumbent-support-lowest-1994/story?id=10487480), which single factor will be most influential:

Religion and Ground Zero (http://www.foxnews.com/politics/2010/08/21/days-decide-god-decide-november/)
Social Security (http://www.csmonitor.com/USA/Election-2010/2010/0814/Social-Security-heats-up-as-an-issue-for-midterm-elections) and/or health care (http://www.time.com/time/politics/article/0,8599,2011907,00.html?xid=rss-mostpopularemail)
Economy and Unemployment (http://www.abc.net.au/news/stories/2010/08/24/2991417.htm?site=thedrum)

...it will all be over come November.

Most people don't understand Social Security or the Health Care and how it will impact them, they would be a hell of a lot more worried if they did though and it may play a small part... But overall I'd say the economy and jobs especially will be the deciding factor for most elections as that is something everyone can understand.

Evidently, the mud will continue to fly. (http://seminal.firedoglake.com/diary/67802)

Yup, the more things change, the more they stay the same.

Always be wary of people who want to run for office! It takes a certain ego to want the job...

The greatest leaders we ever had usually didn't even want the job and only took it because they were asked to serve. Too bad we don't have as many people with that sort of character anymore to serve with honor instead of trying to establish a legacy or just get power and money.
