The New Kindle

So in Episode 273 Kevin was talking about how great the new Kindle is. He stated several times the price of $139. But then as he was showing his Kindle to Alex, he said it had 3G and Wifi, then stated again that it only cost $139. This can't be, as the Kindle with 3G and Wifi is $189. For $139 you get the Kindle that only has Wifi.

I thought Kevin was generalizing and not talking about the Kindle he purchased, so I played the video back where he showed Alex his Kindle. Sure enough, he said it (meaning his), cost $139.

I know they were drinking, but come on Kevin get your facts right! :)

I don't even think Kevin bought it, he probably had an assistant order it, or a contact got him one. One thing with Kevin, he is good not brag about contacts, freebies, money, etc....it comes up sometimes, but he trys to down play, I appreciate that. As such I don't think he knows other than what he has read/heard...$139....you never hear about the different models. And for Kevin, if you notice, he is a not in the loop like he used to be, some of his comments are dated, and often he has admitted not knowing about something. It is remarkable for me, as I use DiggNation and other shows to keep me in the loop, I'm not a big "latest greatest gotta have it guy" or FanBoy....so when I have heard about something, or know the latest, it strikes me.

Not knocking Kevin, but he is clearly burning the candle at both ends.....you can see the subtle anxiousness he has in some episodes, that he isn't "there", or that he just wants to hurry up and get it done.....hence only through 2010....

At any rate, who has a new Kindle? I'm looking to purchase one and I want to hear from some that have it. I'm going to use it for PDFs, and of course, books.

Anyone read technical ebooks on the Kindle? I've heard the charts/graphs/diagrams aren't displayed properly. I would probably get one, but I only read technical books.
