Congrats Jimski and Mrs. Jimski. The race is on. Who will deliver first? Frank Cho's first arc of Mighty Avengers or the "Ski" Family? Does anyone want to lay down odds?

Congrats! If iFanboy has responsibility for the new baby, should they set up a new paypal donation button to pay for child support. Or maybe they can just donate crappy comics to use as burp up rags and diapers.

Dude, I've been meaning to donate some bread to iFanboy for like six months; maybe we can call it a wash. Or, actually, everybody just go ahead and donate to iFanboy.com; mini-ski is gonna be just fine, but daddy's gonna need some high quality amusement once he can't afford to leave the house any more.
Plus, cash sacrifices appease the board. You must appease the board, lest someone use it to curse you.
In all seriousness, thanks to everyone for the warm wishes. I've never had a little one before (that I know of! Hi-yo!) but I have been filling the role of "fun uncle" for all my friends' kids for a couple of years now so it was time to move up from the farm team. Which I believe is a base-ball reference.
I love that now it's between my wife's womb and the nimble fingers of Frank Cho. On your marks! Get set!
On an even more serious note: Jesus God, I went to jury duty for one day and came home to find 127 posts on these boards. A man has to quit his job just to keep up!

Congrats again. Love the vid. Hope you have twins. My wife and I had twin girls. Funny story - we didn't know we were going to have them until they actually came. Lynn, my wife, had been having a healthy pregnancy - a little heavier than the previous one, but nothing unusual. Since our health coverage didn't cover sonagrams at that time, we skipped it. We just thought we were going have a larger than usual healthy baby. During delivery, everything went normal. Out popped a six pound baby girl. Oh, I thought, no so heavy weight then. As the doctor worked to wrap things up, I looked at Lynn and thought, "She still looks pregnant. There's not another baby in there - is there?" Ha Ha, I joked to myself. About that time the doctor shouted, "There's another baby in there." All the nurses frantically gathered around as the doc worked to deliver baby number two. Out she came, another healthy six pound girl. Needless to say we were stunned. So there had been twelve pounds of baby in there - just divided by two. The prenatal doctors had never heard a second heart beat. There was no indication we were going to have twins. So talk about a surprise.

Congrats again. Love the vid.
Yeah, I think the guy who played me really nailed it. Real pro.
Seriously, though: the camera is new, as is my ability to put video online. It didn't turn out nearly as good as the average episode of iFanboy, but I do feel like I gained an infinitesimal bit of insight into the process. It's a lot of fun to be able to communicate that way.
As for "surprise twins," that's not even the first time I've heard of that happening. Amazingly. Given the century we live in. When my wife and her sister were born, the fact that my mom-in-law was in fact eating for three was not discovered until very late in the game, although thankfully they figured it out before the delivery day.
I shouldn't keep saying the t-word; I'm freaking my wife out, which was a dumb thing to do even when she wasn't a pregnant woman. Every time I say "twin," she works another half hour of overtime.
Mr. Ski, children are awesome and I wouldn't trade mine for anything in the world, but twins? Run away, run away. Seriously, we had my daughter and it was a LOT of work. Eventually we got used to it. 19 months later, my son was born. In the months leading up to that, we actually thought you know we already have one so the second shouldn't be so bad. Maybe he would be 60% more work. ****ING WRONG! It was more like 160% more work. And they aren't even twins who need to be fed and changed and burped at the same time. I'm not trying to scare you. I'm just saying one is beautiful and don't hurry

I did not get to read any comics this week, but there was one new thing that came out this week I really enjoyed: in a move reflecting either her sense of humor or her discourtesy, my daughter was born on a Wednesday. 10:34 p.m., to be exact, after a 6-minute c-section that no one saw coming when they woke up this morning. Everybody is doing well, and she's looking good. I'd show you, but it seems we packed and brought every conceivable piece of technology to the hospital except the cord that connects the goddamn camera to the laptop. All in all, an A+ day.

A smart man would have brought his comics to the delivery room. What else do you got to do in there beside shout random encouragements, am I right?
Pretty sure you could have done that while reading Green Arrow:Y1.
...Seriously congratulations, Jimski. I wish your family the best of luck.

Whoa! Way to go, Jimski! Congrats man. And soon there will be another female comic book reader. She'll go into the local comic book store and be gawked at by all of the guys there. Then her old man will come in for his pull list and grunt, "Hey, you! Eyes forward, mister. What are you reading? Is that Rob Liefeld art? You're not dating my daughter!"
Seriously, congratulations.
"Hey, you! Eyes forward, mister.

Oh man, congratulations! Be sure to welcome her to the proverbial iFanboy family for me, and I'll of us I'm sure. That's really amazing. I'm just going to throw my two cents in and make sure you do not name your baby esophaguski. Or Six Gunski for that matter.

So we're gonna need a name so we can say something on the show...
Where are my manners? Probably too late now, but she is Elizabeth, or Liz, or Libby, or Lizardbreath. The last one seems more like a code name.
Thanks to all for the well-wishes! We are chilling in the hospital until Sunday morning, so I may be screwing around here a lot. The kid thing is pretty wild. I am glad we went with the c-section; if nothing else, you're not overly ginger with your baby after you've seen a medical professional pull her out of your wife by the head like the claw game at the bowling alley. "C'mere, you!" TUG
