This is a new show on Showtime that's about a guy who is a forensic scientist by day, a serial killer by night. It opens with him killing a child molestor/murderer. I'm only 10 minutes in but I'm already in love. Anyone else watch the premiere last night?

I just need to see it pop up on SHO-HD, and hit the DVR. I'll watch it later this week. The preview looked great - the anti CSI. Nip/Tuck has lost its edge a little, so I hope this will fill the void.

I just finished watching it. I thoroughly enjoyed it. It's probably just me, but I got this comic book/graphic novel vibe from the show. I can totally see Garth Ennis writing something like this.

Typical of the antagonist...just like on Psyche, the detective that hates him overacts compared to the other characters.

So I taped 3 episodes for my mom because she saw commercials on another channel and was curious about it. Unfortunately she thinks I'm going to jail since I BTed it. But I found one thing she said really amusing. Dexter said something about he's really a monster pretending to be human. And my mom said "Oh he's too tough on himself"

I love the show but he's a ****ing serial killer. The writers are doing their job if they can get that kind of sympathy for him.

I DLed the first few episodes and I really liked it compared to most of the stuff that's on TV right now, but I'd prefer episodes that get wrapped up rather than this ongoing thing. I'll probably keep watching though...

Has anyone actually read the book it is based on? It would be interesting to know how it compares.

The first book does tell you who the ITK is, but the TV show and the book are really quite different. I don't really think the book spoiled anything, because the TV show handls stuff differently

This new episode was great though. Dexter going to the psychiatrist, that was great.

I think he was tracking her when she was a hooker. Found out she was a cop. Somehow figured out Dex is a killer and decides to interact with him. Honestly I have no clue.

I was thinking about that too when Dex was choking him. But I think it's love. When it comes to family there isn't a thing in the world you wouldn't do for them. I broke a guy's nose because he said something bad about my mom. You protect family no matter what. But it's still ****ed up.

OK so what are the dromie's thoughts on the last episode "Father Knows Best"?

I loved the little cues in the packing montage, like Rudy a.k.a. ITK tieing the records in neat little stacks, and Dexter wrapping stuff up in a garbage bag.

The thing that got me in this episode was Doakes. He is even more of a bad a** mother ****er than I thought, Army - Special Ops!

So what are the predictions for next weeks finale. Is Dexter or the cops gonna save his sister. I personally am hoping for Dexter to be the one who catches him and some intense scene of him beating the crap out of him before he kills him. But it'll probably being the cops saving her at the last second. This ep was epic though.

I kind of think Dexter's sister is unnatractive, I'm not sure why but I think it has something to do with how skinny she is and the way she moves her mouth when she speaks. But i doubt shes going to die, I bet someone like sergeant Doakes will come and save the day. Plus Dex just got renewed for a second season and shes a pretty important character to the story line. I just finished the finale and I loved it. This will sound corny but I did have the thought that the ITK was his bro but then I was like nah. Of course I didn't believe in it enough to post it so ya'll have to take my word on it. Not that it matters much. I loved the end when Rudy stabbed the empty bed and Dex popped out of no where.

And maybe I'm alone but I thought they might have Dex kill Deb and have it go really dark, but I'm glad he didn't I like the killer with a code that he is. And the dream parade at the end was really needed after all the intense shit. I needed the smile it gave ya.

I've heard that the villain in the second book puts Rudy to shame....is that true? Will our next baddie be even more intriguing? Also, I wonder if anyone was thinking the same thing as me...that perhaps either Harry or the ITK killed Dexter's real father? No one on the Showtime forums seemed to know and I distinctly remember the ITK doing a killing stint as a cable guy.
