Just happened a few hours ago. This will be going on for a few weeks probably then the baby stuff will probably still be in the news for awhile after that until the father issue is done.

I happened to look up and saw it on CNN earlier, i'm really curious as to how she died... I feel bad for her child.

She and her son both die young, in a short period of time, both relatively healthy until death. Doesn't look too good for the soon of the billionaire guy.
My concern now is for the baby girl she had hours before her son died. She's already in a giant paternity battle.
She died, I read she was just unresponsive, yet I failed to read the rest of it. I guess she died. I can't believe that, too bad for the child.

I just called my mom. You know, we both like Anna Nicole. She hasn't tried to be anything but human. She was public about weight struggles, about her drug use, took the initiative to get help for drugs.... She's someone I've looked up to in the weight loss department. I haven't always looked as I do now - I used to be 400 pounds. But seeing a beautiful celebrity struggling with the same thing has been encouraging. She hasn't been a bad person. And to anyone who thinks she married the guy for money? Hell, it takes two to marry. He had to want to marry her in return. And if he were a regular guy instead of a rich guy, no one would have thought twice. My mom is in a May-December relationship with a very rich guy, and I love George like a father and he loves me like a daughter. So I know love exists.

Both she and her son died under similar circumstances. Maybe they were both taking the same drug. Or maybe a weight loss drug she took over the years had some bad health effects.
Isn't her new baby less than a year old? I wonder if that lawyer who claimed paternity will step up now and take custody of the baby?

She was definitely a character and made a bunch of very questionable decisions, but it all seems mildly moot at this point in light of her death. It’s pretty sad that both her and her son died in such a short period. Even sadder for the baby she just had.

see in my mind it's not these media whores to blame. it's the people that actually follow these people lives. next time you got a little free time go to cnn (or watch the channel) and read over the stories. think about how many are really "news" i.e. events that changes the world. not alot. the local new is worse. these company have to create news so we end up with anne and her type. don't blame the player blame the game. supply and demand.

How is this "breaking news" on CNN? Why should it be "breaking news"?? CNN has a very biased reporting standard as does Fox News. I get my news from the BBC. The American general public is very stupid when it comes about world events. More people voted for American Idol than the U.S. presidential election but that's another topic.

God, Starscream, you sure like to argue.
You ask how, "how can it be great news that a mother has died? i wonder if someone thought it was great when my father died," is relevant to the conversation. Look, she just had a baby. The baby's father is unknown. If you had lost a parent, you'd know how offensive the thought of someone being glad your parents is dead can be. If someone said it was great news that my dad is dead, well, let's just say you'd better not be near me because I will beat the shit out of you. And here you are, glad that this baby lost a parent. Dislike Anna if you want. But don't be glad she's dead and this baby is without a mother.

If it helps you I do feel sorry for the kid. The kid didn't ask to be put in this situation. I doubt the baby will end up in foster care with all that money. However, this is not an argument about losing one's parents, it's about what kind of person she was. Not a very good one at all. The fact that authorities don't know who the kids father is just tells you what kind of person she was. She had been know to abuse drugs in the past. Why don't we take into consideration the fact that she was trying to screw her late husbands family out of millions? Hmm. That doesn't seem morally right, does it? So why should I feel sorry for her? Seriously? I have more pity for poor people in third world countries dying around the world of disease and starvation than celebrities.

Hmm. Interesting. SF always had its very intriguing "mystique". I want go Ranger after I get commissioned. So you were in the Alabama NG the entire time? How many combat tours did you get to endure? I do know what you mean about the armor. I going to assume your tour in the sandbox was around 2003-2004'ish. My former Marine unit didn't rate armored plates for the IVA for the same reasons.

Nope. I am just not caught up with the whole fascination with knowing the minutiae of "celebrity's" lives. I might be entertained by them, but thats their chosen "job" ...
Its funny how some very famous people remain out of the public spotlight, and can lead semi-normal lives, while others (Anna Nicole Smith) craves attention like an addiction. I can't see them being particularly good role models - there are far better people to pattern your life off of and find inspiration from in the community.

Her late husband chose to marry her. Who's to say that the family wasn't trying to screw her out of her legal marital assets? A lot of people have used drugs, a lot of people have uncertainty as to paternity. God damn, are you so perfect that you can consider her a bad person? Hell, if a guy does drugs and goes through rehab and/or fu five girls in a week, he's a god. If a woman does it, she deserves to die?

Umm, major correction to what you said. We are forced to watch because the media THINKS the general population enjoys it. Big difference there.
Also, to AriaStar, her late husband was extremely old and dieing when they married. I don't think they married because of love.
The only thing I'm really fed up with in the media coverage is on one show they were interviewing movie stars asking them what they thought about her. And it was odd because almost every one of them said "She knew how had it was to be a celebrity (or star)" But umm, last I checked, she really wasn't. Yea, she had a bunch of shows that flopped, but in reality she was no more than a B actress with DD boobs. And I think she got into the news more with the husband being old and rich issue and the more recent son dies and who's the daddy? then anything else.

she had to be dealing with drugs or something and owed somone money, i mean look her son died and then her andi bet shortly her newborn. its her or her "other" ussually the case with celebs.
Hmm, what to think about this. I guess my thoughts boik down to "karma is a biatch sometimes huh?"
I'm actually surprised she didn't shuffle off her mortal coil before 39. Let's see here...her choices in life were marriage at 16, knocked up at 17, stripper at 18-19, Playboy at 24-25, marriage to an 89 year-old oil tycoon at 26 (who frequented the strip club she danced in...no, she did it for "love," really...), some awful movies in the late 90s, the incredible "Anna Nicole Show" in the early 2000s, then a Trim-Spa spokeswoman, and drugs drugs drugs throughout it all.
If it wasn't for Naked Gun 33 1/3 and her dabbling in animal rights here and there, I'd chalk her time on Earth up as a total waste. If she didn't have decent looks and a damn fine plastic surgeon, she'd have died without anyone noticing.
I don't like sounding so crass, but everything I've heard and read about this is making her out to be some vicitm of society and it's just pathetic - I'm tired of it all. However, the hullabaloo at least gives us all a chance to 1) question why in the hell this story is such a big deal but more importantly 2) realize that none of us are victims to choices WE make.
No - she didn't make the choice to die, but the choices she made in her "life" certainly influenced the timing and method of it all I'd say.

Frankly, I just don't care. Though I am appalled that the news media in the states spends more time "mourning" a "celebrety" then on actual news.
Here's a fun stat, everyday a smoker dies, every day a non-smoker dies, everyday some former executive dies, everyday some random dock worker dies. In summation, people die. I feel sad for her newborn, but what are you going to do? People die. It's life.

They should have said she died give a little explanation then moved on to real news. Not 24+ hours of news coverage on one story. Celebrities they entertain us yes but they shouldn't be covered on the news like theirs gods or something. They usually aren't educated nor know anything about politics yet they think the do. Yea it is sad when someone dies and a child is left motherless. Celebrities are no more important than you or I yet the media makes us believe they are. We need more people to tell it like it is and not sugar coat it. If it's not P.C. people tend to whine and complain.

On the topic of Political Correctness... Aqua Teen Hunger Force has a fantastic episode about it. They review "Standards and Practices" when the face of "Gee-whiz" appears in the butt of a gun on an ad. Seriously, that and there's a few episodes of South Park that, when looked at as a political/life satire, should be required viewing for everyone, everywhere!

Any death of a non-homicidal non-child molesting 39 year-old is sad. No matter how screwed-up a life she led. She was someone's mom and some people even loved her. They deserve some sympathy.
She's no Mother Teresa, Lady Diana, James Kim or even Sonny Bono. However, we should accord her a dignity that we grant all in death. Indeed, this may be the only dignity she has left.
She didn't "deserve" to die. It wasn't or karma, god or some sort of poetic justice. It's just sad.
