That time you meant to grab the sugar and grabbed salt instead, or when you forgot chili in the crock pot for a week.... What are your worst culinary disasters?

I did know a girl who was making a cherry pie and stupidly grabbed salt. She was a moron.
And my ex-roommate was making buffalo chili in the crock pot and went off to her boyfriend's place for a week assuming I'd take care of it and finish, even though I told her I was going to be at my mother's place for a week. When I got back, it was to a smoky apartment. I don't know how there was no fire.
My personal worst? I was making oatmeal cookies and forgot to add the flour. So I threw them away and made a new batch. And forgot to add the flour. And then I made them again, and then I gave up after again forgetting the flour.

Probably one of the following:
1.Making cookies and mistakenly put in 2 cups of salt instead of 2 teaspoons.
2.Baking fish and not having any cooking wine, so thinking I could just substitute vodka (hey they’re both alcohol! Sigh….)

ROTFLOL on the salt! how the hell did you make that mistake? When did you discover it?
And what happened with the vodka fish?

The salt cookies unfortunately weren’t discovered until the first bite. I seemed to have lacked any common cooking sense at the time. The vodka fish was the most putrid thing I’ve ever tasted. Normally I’m not too picky on food, but I couldn’t even stand to finish eating it.

In this forum? Maybe. At least you haven't burned spaghetti. Another one of my ex-roommate's disasters. I banned her from cooking. Seriously.

Wow....the worst I've ever done is burn something. My wife had to use "the only unitasker you should have in the kitchen" when she set fire to the oven.
NEVER leave pine nuts unattended. Those things are highly flammable.

never had to use that before always catch it before it goes up in flames. If I burn something I still usually eat it no need to waste it lol.

Over mixed the coating for french toast and it came out like rubber, couldn't even hardly cut it with a knife.
