Hi there,

I recently acquired an old dell GX280 and I'm thinking of turning into a cheap HTPC of sorts.....basically moving my movies to it and hooking it to our 40" HDTV. It has 2GB of DDR2 5300 RAM and a 3.0ghz P4 processor. Newegg is selling a Radeon HD 4350 512MB card with an HDMI port for about $75. I know there are cheaper ones available but most are PCI-E and I believe this PC has AGP.

Currently I have my laptop hooked up through VGA to the TV and it works alright but I'd like to get HDMI.

Should I spend the cash to make it into what I want it to be or just stick with what I am doing now?

Does the integrated card support 1920x1080?

It might, depending on what you watch video with. Flash based players still rely on the CPU allot. Most other media players (VLC, Media Center etc) use the graphics card for the video decoding (thus the CPU doesn't matter too much).

Should I just get a roku box or WD tv box?
