i don't use Beagle, i use the soptlight-like search function built into Gnome on Debian...and i think Beagle only indexes your Linux partition (s)

You can check the Beagle site, the instructions are laid out very well.
Or you can check the different status and settings of beagle on your terminal. To see which ones are available type:
"beagle" then [tab] [tab] for autocomplete...
beagle-build-index beagle-info
beagle-config beagle-manage-index
beagle-contactviewer beagle-ping
beagled beagle-query
beagle-exercise-file-system beagle-search
beagle-extract-content beagle-settings
beagle-imlogviewer beagle-shutdown
beagle-index-info beagle-status
beagle-index-url

[grep]
Try rebuilding your static index (http://beagle-project.org/Static_Indexes).
