i would not ask but it has to be like 7 years old.It depends how the lights/power buttons are connected to the existing motherboard.

Most cases use a standardised header. Open the case and follow the wiring from the LEDs and power button to the motherboard and take a look.

You love showing your moderator muscle. You could be a bit more mitigating with your speech.

I use old cases all the time. Just check the wiring, if not get a soldering iron.....

What people do not realise is that whether it be a pII or the latest multicore cpu, the foot print inside the case is basically the same unless you purchase a name brand like Dell that is anything but standard. If I see an old computer (free for the taking that is) that is basically atx, I grab it. I do not care whether it works per se. It is a free case and if something works inside that is just a bonus for spare parts on existing systems. HP traditionally has made cases that are built like a tank and are usually quieter. In fact I have an old HP case that has the ms sticker for win98 and the intel sticker for intel pII inside still on it. I am running an amd cpu and linux instead. In some ways that is a good security idea. Who would want an old system (unless they knew about that idea)?
