What Equipment Do You Use?

Hello,

I was wondering what cameras and equipment the Revision3 Team uses. I have a customer that is looking into getting some professional equipment and I know that the R3 Team knows their stuff.

I was thinking about the Canon XL2... What lenses will I need? Will I need one in addition to the lens that comes with it? Also I wanted to do Hard Drive recording but the only solution I can find for that is the "FIRESTORE FS- 4 HD PORTABLE DTE RECORDER" which does not look like the one they used on TechTV, any ideas?

Also any recommendation on lights I should use?

Joey should be able to tell us what they use on Diggnation, I've seen him post here a couple times.

For diggnation, from another thread (http://revision3.com/forum/showthread.php?t=3315), Joey uses a Panasonic DVX-100A camera.

Not sure about other shows. Hopefully some of the other guys see this thread and can fill you in!

The Panasonic is a little cheaper than the Canon, but I think I prefer the extra featuers of the Canon such as the 30x zoom, etc. They used to film tech TV with the older version.

What kind of mics should I use? They dont have to be wireless but I would prefer a set of good quality clip on lapel mics. Do they hook directly into the camera?

Also what should I be looking for in regards to lighting?
