Hi everybody,

I have a good idea for a card trick on Scam School.
Only one problem: I don't know how it's done, but it's a pretty impressive trick.
Here's how I saw it done:
First I may pick a card. Then I put it back in the deck.
The guy who did the trick then split the deck in half and turned one of the two piles with the face upward.
Then he riffle shuffled the cards. So he says, now the deck is all messed up.
He then puts his hand on the deck (didn't really see him do anything strange) and a few seconds later I see the cards are back in the same direction, except one card that is turned. And (suprise) this happens to be my card.
It was pretty cool to see.
I hope anyone knows how to do this trick and maybe Brian can perform it in his show.

Brian has already performed that at the end of one Scam School episode (about 12:20 into the episode below):

The technique is quite a bit more challenging than anything taught on Scam School, so I wouldn't expect an explanation on the show anytime soon.

I'm a little lost on where he's controlling the guy's card to. I guess I have to give Brian credit for more card skills than I thought. (given that I know he avoids card tricks a lot on the show). But it looks like to me, there's a false shuffle at the end which is kind of impressive. Maybe a jog on the top card before he "mixes" them together? I'm familiar with the last 10 seconds of the trick, but not sure how he got them that easily into that configuration from a riffle. I just do it from the flipping cards method.

The version Brian does requires a lot of skill. Here's a knock off version which is quite a bit simpler: http://www.5min.com/Video/Faced-upside-down-card-trick-3138

Most of the trick that Brian does can be figured out by watching the segment posted above (Brian's trick), several times and watching very carefully. Just pay attention to the last few seconds when Brian asks the guy what his card is, and also use your knowledge of false shuffles, and controlling a card from Brian's other scam school episodes.

This is a bit similar to Brian's trick:
