It seems that in FilmState more than FilmRiot (might just be my perception tho).. Ryan is rapid speaking like a tweeker. I've also noticed OhDoctah and even Shwood (at times) go into tweeker mode on podcasts. Is it post-production speeding up of the audio to reduce the filesize/length/bandwidth use? I know that you want to seem enthusiastic on air to try and make the excitement rub off on viewers... but too much and you either start to seems like a spaz... or someone who is semi knowledgable on a subject and wants to seem more intelligent by talking fast and putting out alotta buzz words and jibjab (like Ohdoctah) so you only process afew things they said.
Is it thinking everyone is ADD/ADHD? like going to short form... as many Rev3 shows have done. Is there some "podcast conference" where some dude got up and used some big words w/ nitpicked data, and convinced execs that fast fast fast was the best product?
I dont think Leo Laporte has ANY show under 30 minutes long and that most go 60-90 minutes. I bet his #s are pretty equal to Rev3's or better on some shows.
Not getting the tweeker-speek, ADD production of the shows. I like getting information from the show host like I'm chatting w/ them in a live discussion.. not like my player froze on 1.5-2.0X speed.
