Call for Help

So I was just checking out digg and I saw on there that Chris Perillo was saying that he kind of wanted to do a call for help style thing, and I think it would be cool if rev 3 actually put a show together for him. I just thought i would toss it out there. I liked the show when it was on techtv and just kind of seemed like that is what you guys were up to.

Being that Chris Pirillo has a Digg clone out there (undoTV) that I believe was causing some friction, I doubt that'll happen. Or did I just imagine that friction part?

UndoTV is a digg clone? I thought that they were just trying to relaunch TechTV by aggregating all the content that all our favorite Screen Savers are putting out into one place. Huh... I guess you learn something new everyday!

Yeah I don't see how UndoTV can be a Digg clone. One plans on being a podcast, the other is a social news thing.

I know that I'd watch some Call For Help whenever it gets up and going.

The only thing UndoTV has to do with old TechTV people is it's creators. It's initial content base was a bunch of stuff from old tech TV people (mostly Twit and Chris Pirillo's camp), but that's where the connection ends.

I'm guessing you guys haven't seen the beta yet? It's very similar to Digg's video/podcast interface and you can vote stuff up and down as well.

That's the part I don't get. If they are trying to create awareness for podcasts and do a pseudo-techTV reunion, why are they voting stuff down and up? Why not capture and aggregate the RSS feeds and display them in order of release and keep a Revision3.com side bar of the most popular links?

That's the thing, you can submit any text/podcast/video link...it looks like this TechTV reunion/aggregator thing was just a public relations smokescreen to drum up interest. It's certainly not limited to content from TechTV alum.
