Just watched ep 10 (which I think is the seasons finale) and not sure exactly how I feel about it...
Thought the storyline was good. The inclusion of spies w/in agencies was provacative, the eps of the causation in the history w/ Capt. Jack.. and the pedobear... All that was pretty good.

Fell apart abit w/ Gwen (thruout the whole season) and the final cliffhanger.

Gwen (as is also common w/ the Dr. Who sidekicks of the reboot) is faced w/ the universe/world ending and when she could help stop the whole thing... she just wants to hold her baby (where if she holds her baby for a second too long everyone and every baby dies.. sorta paraphrasing there) and goes into an Emo "gush".

Perhaps its the show producers thinking that a woman lacks the critical thinking skills to do a job w/o vaginal emotions taking over... dont know... but it seems kinda stupid.

I have an easy going, animal loving (works at a horse stable/riding school) liberal sister... who when almost put into a situation w/ a belligerant in line at the grocery store.... told my mother beside her: "If she gets shitty and starts attacking people... I will take her down.. I carry around bales of hay and push 900+ pound horses around... I'm pretty strong for my looks"...
off on a tangent.... UK/BBC tv chics need to toughen up to represent the normal world... and need better resolutions and cliffhangers to UK shows

Haven't seen ep 10 yet, but the rest of the series has been a disappointment after Children of Earth. It started well with a great premise and appeared to exploring the consequences of the main sci fi theme really well, but then it went completely off track and became very generic.

The American aspect to the show has been a complete mixed bag and I'll be honest, the mix just doesn't work for me overall. I had hoped as the season progressed everything would come together, but it didn't and the show continues to be at it's best when it's based in Wales. I also think they've pushed Jack's sexuality too far this season and strayed too much on the homosexual side. It feels forced and that's disappointing. Rhys continues to be the best part of the show, I'm glad they kept him.

To me, I went into the show having recently rewatched the hit and miss seasons 1 and 2 and also remembering that 3 didn't end perfectly either. I also remembered RTD's tendency towards melodrama of plot logic and knew it wouldn't be the densely plotted Moffat stories the main DW ship is diong these days. So, from that perspective, I found it mostly enjoyable. If it was an eight episode season and they tightened up the middle, it would have been better, but I did enjoy the time they spent to luxuriate in exploring the big premise.

FINALE SPOILERS

My favourite character was by far Jilly Kitzinger, so I'm glad she survived and should have a presence in the next season. I sort of understand leaving the families thing unresolved but wish there was a little more hint as to what the reason behind it was besides just a 'wait for phase 2' thing. The Rex thing was a funny moment but I don't know that I like the concept of two immortals. And I'll miss Esther - I preferred her to Rex by far. Oswald Danes sounded like an interesting character on paper, but in the context of the season didn't actually do anything.

I missed the presence of aliens (besides that one token appearance), and in fact they joke about there being 'nothing more terrestrial' than this. There was no Tosh name drop at all, which was sad, and not as much DW continuity as I'd hope. This should still be a world that was dragged into the Medusa Cascade only a few years ago. Other loose end - the morphic field plate piece Jack took from the bedroom, the weird hitman guy and the server room, Oswald Danes and the Costerdane family name seems too coincidental.

END SPOILERS

But overall, it was basically what I expected, and thus enjoyable on that level.
