that guy from Joan of Arcadia is the head nerd. cool!
and it has David "Cooter" Koechner in it.

now the real question is, will it be worth seeing?
EDIT: There's no Cooter in this film. Damn the Illinois education system for giving me such bad reading habits and damn cartoons for giving me such a short attention... hey, something shiny! What was I talking about?

the guy who wrote Not Another Teen Movie wrote it. this whole franchise was better off as an 80's flick(s). I'm sad about this and am very against this remake. and all remakes. lame.
Amen. This and Porky's. Just unnecessary.

I'm happy that they're making it, but it'll be pretty hard to capture the same thing. At least there is Geek Chic now, back then there was nothing cool about geek... nothing at all.

I'm not against remakes in general, but this and Adventures in Babysitting are bummers.

Is it a really a remake though? I think if anything it should be seen as a reimagining. I've seen the first series plenty of times and I don't see the harm of telling another chapter in nerd history. I read that in this one they aren't going to be caricatures of nerds, they'll just be like us I guess. Hopefully Skolnick will have a part in the movie too.

All you need to see is the fact that McG is producing it. This means it will blow.

dude!!! that's my point, times are different now. Nerds run most of my company and are worth huge amounts of money... in the 80s, you're dream would be to get some programming job and work for Biff.

Koechner is not in Revenge of the Nerds, but the second movie the article mentions, The Comebacks...reading is hard.

Yeah, he's going to turn into a bad music video.

Revenge on the Nerds is not a movie that needs to be remade. Is it just because Accepted was good? I just really don't like most remakes, they are usually unecessary

It could never do justice to the awesomeness that is the original Nerds. Who can replace Booger?!

I agree, certian remakes are pointless. The original "Revenge of the Nerds" is perfect.

This is one movie I wont be seeing.
Can't Hollywood come up with a single original idea? Or do they need to go back and "reinvent" the movies they saw in college. Original was back in 84, so its been 23 years.
Nuff said.

I was never a fan of the original movie. I thought that characterizations of the nerds was stereotypical and over the top. As I recall, the only reason the one character was an outcast was his apparent homosexuality. How does that even fit in. As if those jocks didn't have tendenacies. True, we geeks tend to be very accepting of different lifestyles. I do appreciate the message of the movie, but it is not enough. I think that Old School tackled the same subject matter in a modern context. How does this remake add anything but money to the studios, which they will use to make more remakes?
I don't know about you, but I fell into that category in 1984. The beauty of the situation is that the true coolness of geeks/nerds has not changed. There may be more of us now than then. Or rather, many are more open about it. And while "geek chic" (for whatever that means) may have made geekdom more mainstream, geeks/nerds are still a group apart. And I enjoy that. Most of the wannabes when I was in high school were just part of some established labelled group and that made them just like everyone else. The geek/nerd community, at least when I was in school were a loose confederation. Each doing their own thing with their own interests and the geek/nerd label was given to them. We didn't resist because that would have been acknowledging the standard high-school-football definition of coolness.
