I bought my new computer a few days ago and I cannot wait to get Skyrim running on high graphics, should look absolutely gorgeous. I'll probably just roam the country-side taking pretty pictures to use as desktop backgrounds.

Yeah, I've been biting my lip every time I see adds for it . . . just not there financially to invest in a new system . . . the game looks pretty amazing - just wish it was at least a 2 player coop though . . . it would be so much more fun.

There's just something about the graphics and physics that I just don't like in Bethesda games. It's "chintzy" or something. I don't know how to describe it, but I can't get past it. Walking over things like bodies and flinging them 20 feet in front of you? Takes me right out. They should've put more effort into keeping that sorta thing from happening and giving things weight instead of going into the fine details of a 3D chicken breast or wedge of cheese. I do like the idea of having so much to do and the game being well over 80 hours or whatever it is, though.

Sometimes it's a good thing though. I killed a bandit on the ledge of a mountain, and laughed as I watched him bounce down the entire side of the mountain.

My comment elsewhere was along the lines of: William Tell: "How about them apples?"
...and agreeing with a youtube comment that it needs arrow-vision.

I can't start playing, lol. I don't want to play it unless I can sit down for a couple hours, I don't think it's the kind of game I want to play 30 minutes at a time, but I have so many other things I like to do its hard to find big blocks of time. So far I've only played it for an hour, the day I bought it (a week ago)...

Yeah... I started playing when the wife and kids fell asleep around 9. Next I look and it's 1:30 AM.

This game is amazing. How amazing is this game? Like... SUPER FREAKING AWESOME OMG WTF AMAZING.
I'm playing on PC and I love the graphics. I would never play a game like this on console. Not with the mod potential that all of these games have. there are some bugs, but that's to be expected. This is my game of the year. Period. End of Story. No other game matters right now. And no other game has mattered the entire year. Love love love it.
***possible spoilers***
My best moment so far was seeing Alduin raising a dragon from a grave. I was like, "Ohh what's that?" I see alduin, and a huge plume of light from the ground. Then BAM! Another dragon and Alduin flies off. Freaking awesome.

Had a dragon drop down right in the courtyard of the College of Magic. What turned out to be my coolest thing yet was I got my first cinematic dragon kill. Jumped on its neck and hacked at its face until it finally succumbed to my sheer awesomeness.
BTW this is not a spoiler since it was just one of the random dragon encounters.

I've played for around 6 hours and still enjoying it. It hasn't fallen into the same problems I had with Elder Scrolls III and IV.

what problems did you have?? I couldn't get past Elder Scrolls IV's slow start, but loved III. Snooze lvl MAX.

Been roaming around collecting quests and finding places. Not completed many of the main mission quests. Just finished the Mage School story line and am now an Arch Magus. Trying to find a way into the Thieves Guild...May have to consult a FAQ.
Oh, and last night, I got attacked by two dragons at the same time. Pretty cool.

I haven't gotten out of the courtyard in the beginning yet...Dragon took out executioner...game told me to use Left stick to move and I stood there watching the dragon fly around...then played around with sneak.

I just felt the gameplay was really clunky and I was kind of overwhelmed with information so I had to dedicate all my gaming focus to the game or else I would forget stuff and not be invested in the story. I never just play one game for a while so I need to be able to bounce around, with Skyim I don't feel like I'm missing stuff if I take a few days off, and I think the gameplay is smoother.
It still does feel really sterile to me though. The environments don't feel lived-in and the conversations are very clearly scripted and non-dynamic. I just wish every game had a dialogue system like Mass Effect. I haven't played ME2 yet, but ME1 did one of the best jobs I've ever seen setting the atmosphere for a game (Heavy Rain comes to mind as well).

I'm still crazy hooked on this game. Currently going through thieves guild missions and it's pretty amazing.

Yeah hooked too, unfortunately I got my wife hooked as well so fighting for playing time! I'm currently level 35 and she is level 20 and I am surprised how much she has done that I haven't even seen yet. Pretty amazing how big and the amount of quests there are in this world.

You are standing in the cavern of the evil wizard. All around you are
the carcasses of slain ice dwarfs...Melt the wizard. What do you want
to melt him with?
...Throw thermal pod.
Your hesitancy has cost you dearly. The wizard, sensing your
apprehension, unleashes a fatal blow from the ice scepter. With luck,
you will thaw in several million years.
Throw Penis Of Sheer Awesomeness
