So let me start by saying i hated podcast's until my friend showed me diggnation, the reason i liked it was because it was somewhat unplanned and wasn't corny. However I find the stories they talk about are snowballed in a sense, by that I mean have you ever looked at Kevin's or Aex's submitted story's? there ALL highly dugg and i don't believe that is because the story's are that great rather because of who they are. Not to mention most of the time the story's they talk about everyone already knows about.
My idea:
Make a weekly show. Bookmark interesting story's you find throughout the week while not filming, this means getting information/storys from anywhere not just from digg and not relying on "diggs" the story's i find interesting and think others would find interesting are the ones you haven't heard of or seen, while talking about popular story's is ok too. As for actually doing the show, there would be absolutely no scrip it would all be real and unplanned which i believe makes it more enjoyable and watchable the thing i can't stand most is watching stuff I know is planned or fake. Another major idea I have also is to tell any interesting story's that have happened in your life or to the people you associate with, giving the show a more personal feel.
