I read in one of the previous threads that you can install a Vista skin from here (http://www.windowsxlive.net/index.php?page_id=15) (I haven't downloaded it yet). My question is do you do if you want to change it back to the old XP style? Is it easy to change back?

BTW, how is the Vista skin itself? Has it messed up anyone's computer yet?

Basically you can't change back. I tried it once on a fresh XP install. In the version I had, it looked close to Vista, but not exact. Then when I tried to uninstall it parts of it remain. Apparently, it replaced certain files.. including the icons, boot screen, etc. It really looks like shit half-ass installed/uninstalled. If your trying to get a Vista fix or just want to get used to the look of Vista. I would seriously recommend that you try to find yourself a copy of Vista. I'm not sure what you have access to, but if you are in college you might be able to get access to MSDN Allied Alliance, they have Vista Business (basically Ultimate without Games and the Media Center) for free. Otherwise, You might try finding a torrent of Vista and at the very least do the 30 day trial.

I tried it for a day or 2 it was ok, i didn't install everything it offered tho. The only way i found to uninstall it was to do a system restore.
If you want just the look of vista you can just try windowblinds or something like that.

I use it and it's more than a skin..it has a few features Vista has and even changes WMC UI and even MSN UI and you get sounds.

Though I snagged a better Vista skin off deviant art that fully uses transparant vista bar and aero glass along with that program.

i was running a previous version of the skin, and now i just installed the final 6.0 version... looks and runs pretty good! i installed every option, so i wouldnt have to 're-install' if i changed my mind and wanted more

i did turn on system restore before trying, and during installation i wish i tried this out on my laptop first (since i picked every option)

but so far so good imo:cool:

if you use google desktop tho, the google sidebar will overlap on the gadgets, so you may want to adjust your screen accordingly, or just not use the sidebar anymore (i only need it for tasks now, since the gadgets included from vtp6.0 are pretty good), just an fyi :)

Wow that's sorta lame you can't uninstall it without a system restore.

i definitely like the new font it has applied tho, much easier on the eyes.. if i had some free time i'd check to see if the font was available before i installed this app..

I love it. It is great. I put this on my laptop. I installed it in safe mode as per the documentation that came with it. I haven't wanted to uninstall it so I don't know about those problems. I would suggest though maybe uninstalling it in safe mode maybe.
