Well... depends what you want to do. Xbox is good for the Hi-def, multiplayer, online ubergaming. Wii is good for the fun, party, ultiplayer gaming. Really... you said april... save like hell and get both ;)

my prediction.. if you buy a wii now... in about 8 months you will also own an xbox360.. in my opinion , for a gamer, a wii is a companion system, i would need to at least have a ps3 or xbox360 (<-- have that)..

i would buy a wii for my family, and give it to them, and play it when i visit home , just because the entire family can participate.. i dont see my 6 yr old niece playing gears of war.

I hear that the Sega Dreamcast is nice. Seriously, how do you expect us to recommend a gaming console when you haven't told us anything about what kind of gamer you are.

Sega Dreamcast owned...had so many great games and was ahead of it's time...when MS developed Xbox they used Dreamcast gamers to see what they wanted in a console..even 360 uses much in ideas drom Dreamcast..in Japan it has 800 games and 3 new games just came out for Dreamcast...infact is was just this year Sega finally stopped making GD rom disks for Developers.

Dreamcast also hold my 3 fave games ever ..Shenmue,Skies of Arcadia and Grandia II.

I still have my Dreamcast and all my original games for the system, although it is currently not connected to my home theater. The line-up of games was awesome and I do agree that this system was a bit ahead of it time and quite groundbreaking to say the least. Lots of great games, a web browser and broadband capability made for some firsts in the console gaming industry.

Now I may just have to hook this system up again as it has been a while...

I waited like 5 weeks for a Wii from 2 different stores, then when it finally came in I had enough money for a laptop. Too bad, those stores took to long and now they lost a possible buyer.

Out of a Wii and 360, I'd say save up all you can until the XBox 360 version 2 comes out. If you can't wait for the XBox 360 "2" then get a Wii.

Thats why i have no prob getting a Wii now, i don't want a 360 till it has a bigger hard drive, and the way it looks i think i have more then enough time to save up for one when they drop.

It's good for short stuff, but long stuff is annoying, I wonder if just plugging in a USB keyboard would work. I'll try when I get home from school later.
