How many hours does making and producing iFanboy's podcasts take out of your week? I've just been thinking to myself how much time you must spend each week - one, coming up with the ideas for the podcasts; two, actually recording the two shows; three, editing them; and four, putting time in on both iFanboy.com and the Rev3 forum.

There's really no way to say this without sounding like I am complaining, which I am totally not, so I'll just say:

A lot.

That's what I thought. And no one would ever think of you complaining.

I wonder a lot about the behind-the-scenes making-of stuff. When do they typically get together to record the show? Who edits it? How long does it take? What about the video version? Can they really stand to be around each other that much? Are people generous with their donations? Revision3's gotta be looking to make some money; how does that work? I am a font of curiosity.

Agreed.

I think it'd be cool to see some of the behind-the-scenes stuff too. There seems to be a lot of interest on the forums regarding the making of the podcast, so maybe it'd be a good topic for the video show? Even if just a short segment for the closing credits?

Than again, we are getting the special Ghost Rider review show in addition to a regular show this week, so I'm grateful just for that.

Typically, we record the audio show on Friday nights, after work, before doing whatever it is we do on Friday nights. Although sometimes life gets in the way - this week's show we recorded Saturday afternoon, and last week's show we did Thursday at midnight. Editing falls to Ron or Josh.

As for the video, all three of us share editing duties.

I notice the sound quality is a lot better over the last few weeks. I wonder if you are using a product I have seen advertise called the Levelator. Its free softwares for posdcasts that is supposed even out the sound a bit.

We've been recording the show in person together which yields much better quality as we have individual mics that go into a mixing board straight in to the computer to record.

But when we can't get together in person (like this week) we use Skype and record the show that way and right before outputting we are indeed using the Levelator, which is rad. We've been using the Levelator since the week it came out.
