that entire time i would have been thinking:
"wow. what's that guy doing... hmmm... i dont think i want to know... okay, think good thoughts now... should i turn on the tv really loud so i dont have to hear it? do i go over there and ask him to stop the rythmic thumping? wow this is akward... really really akward....."
do i go over there and ask him to stop the rythmic thumping? That's a scene from a sitcom waiting to happen.

The show that I’m in, that opens tomorrow night... there is this one scene where I'm supposed to be reading the story of the Nutcracker. So we made this big prop book out of a scrap booking book. We decorated the cover all Nutcrackery and then slid the parts of the story that I’m "reading" into the little pages. Well, the director of this show used this book before and didn't take out all the pages from the last script that was in there. Last night I was on stage doing the scene for our producers and I randomly opened the book to whatever page (cause I don't actually need to read the story) and I glance down (to at least make it look like I'm reading the book to the kids) and I get a face full of Rocky Horror Picture Show script!!! I guess the Narrator used it when they did Rocky last year... too funny!!!

speaking as a woman with a busom worth nuzzling... depends on how you approach it. For the most part I'd probably freak a little bit if a random stranger came up to me wanting to stick their face in between my breasts, but if was the right combo of funny and quirky about asking, I'd laugh. Either way, I probably would not let the stranger stick his face in my cleavage (unless there was alcohol involved and much egging on by friends)

so in my play I have wear a wedding ring. Obviously I'm not use to having a ring on that finger so I kept playing with it on stage during rehearsals. My director ordered me not to take it off until the show closes, so that I can get use to it being there, hopefully this will stop me from playing with it. It is really strange to have something shiny on that finger that catches the light while I'm typing... in all honest, I kind of like it and want a real one of my very own...

I think I'm going to sell my last engagement rings and wedding rings. Either that or hock them off the Golden Gate Bridge. Imagine how much bling must be sitting on the ocean floor from stuff like that....
My first fiancé got the rings, and managed to stick me with the bill. Basically he borrowed the cash from his mom to buy them without the means to pay her back. When he didn't pay her back, she came to me about it and either wanted the money or the rings back. So I used a credit card (for the last time) to take out the money to pay her. Somehow I still didn't get it through my head that the guy was a loser.

My girlfriend and I had been planning a trip to Italy for what seems like ever. A couple of weeks before the trip, she turns to me and says "I want a ring. We have been together for 10 years, so I deserve a ring." (in fact we lived together for 5 of those 10 years).
"OK," I say. "So, you think it is time we actually got engaged?"
Dead silence. Not the reaction you really expect. SHE just wanted a nice ring. I thought she wanted a demonstration of committment.
Anyway, we go out looking at rings. Found one with a nice floating diamond setting, and when she was trying it on, it dawned on her what was happening. Now, my she is definately an "A type" personality, and not at all "girly" - but she started getting all emotional. We choose a nice diamond (more to consider than just Carats - there are another 3 C's that make these things expensive), and we get the ring modified to have 3 additional diamonds on each side of the ring. The finished product looked great, and the idea was that "somewhere" in Italy, I would propose (it ended up being Florence - and the funny thing is, you can see the restaurant where it happend in PGR2 on the XBox as you race around the Duomo :) ).
The ring we bought looks a lot like this one:
http://www.robbinsbros.com/images/products/0001991_lg.jpg
... except in each channel on the sides are 3 diamonds - a 1, 2, and 3 point stone (pretty much diamond chips, but pretty).
With two weeks to go before the trip, she said "You know, if we are going to get engaged in Italy, why don't we get maried there as well?" ... so we arranged all the paperwork, got a wedding planner to handle the logistics, travelled around Italy, ended in Rome, and got married in a former monastery at Caracal (http://www.accessibleitaly.com/accessible-weddings-rome-town-hall.html). Pretty much an elopement, just the two of us. No family present.
It was the first time I ever wore a ring ... and trust me, if you think a womans wedding ring is heavy, mine weighs a ton :)
(Oh yeah, we also have great wedding photos in places like the Spanish Step, Roman Forum, Coleseum, etc).

I will be realistic, Dallas still needs to show something, but if the playoffs started today, they would be a wild card team, plus they have 4 of the last 6 at home.
Now I am wondering if football chat is as despised here as geek chat is despised on football message boards. I apologize if that is the case.

"Good work!!!! The first and the last one are the look I like; the colors are hard to tell on this email. Can you get me a print out? Also please change the language for us."

I am so so so pissed off about these guys who were shot 45 times by cops in Queens. They were completely unarmed and the only guy to die was getting married that day. This is EXACTLY why we have issues in NYC with anger and this is ridiculous. He was walking out of his bachelor party, I mean, can you imagine?

45 TIMES?!?! When do you cross the line from defense to slaughter? I would think it was crossed after the 5th round was fired.

Does anyone still have friends from high school? I went to a all girls public school. Its been 4 years since high school, and these chicks still hang out in the same group with another group of guys (group in breeding there). They are so sad as to have given themselves a nickname. Our school was called Randwick Girls High School and they call themselves the "Wick Chicks" and have this whole family tree thing...ugh so lame..I only just picked up on the fact you are an Aussie ... then looked at your location to confirm it.
It funny looking back. Next year is my 20 year reunion (I finished my HSC in 87), and I went to my 10 year about 4 days before flying off to the US (where i have been ever since). The sad part is that at the 10 year reunion, the "highschool sweethearts" had gotten married, and had kids, and divorced within 5 years of leaving school (made for some tense moments at the reunion). The "clique" groups were still hanging around in town (Wollongong) and were unlikely to ever leave, and hadn't grown up or matured at all.
The rest of us had scattered from east coast to west coast, and to all corners of the world, and to be honest - at the reunion we had a lot of fun just catching up, trading stories, sharing life experiences. The "clique" groups? It was just another weekend for them - they see each other regularly, so it wasn't a big deal.

how many cops were there? if they were using thier pistols that means there had to be ~6 of them and they had to fully empty thier guns. and did all 45 hit him or did they all miss but 2?

I know exactly how you're feeling. But it gets me more than pissed because it's not like this is the first time something like that happened. Remember Amadou Diallo? Shot 41 times after cops confused his wallet with a gun.

We had a mouse in pantry. Apparently it liked Fantales, thankfully it DIDN'T like Tim Tams.
It also didn't like peanut butter on the mouse traps, but it DID like ham.
We no longer have a mouse in the pantry.
Oh yeah - my sore foot from a couple of weeks back ... apparently it is gout, as a side effect from a kidney problem I have in conjunction with eating red meat or pork. Looks like the mouse gets the last laugh.

in the last 3 or 4 years, my work has had 2 murderers. one stabbed a guy in the neck with a screwdriver at a bar, the guy who got stabbed died. another, the guy was just plain psycho and killed like 2 people. somehow, both of these dipshits got off in the legal system without jail time, or any sort of a sentancing. the screwdriver murderer got off beause all the witnesses were drunk. how gay...

Yay, I'm debt free, but I now I have no money to spend on geek stuff.Don't worry - being debt free is the point where you start to accumulate. Takes a little longer, but its a great place to be. My only major expense (besides utility bills), is a mortgage payment ... and that will be clear in 7 years time. Next year I hope to start my MBA (Exec MBA program at UNC) - and that will be a debt of about $60K, but its cash I can borrow from the house without a major penalty (equity line or refi). I can only afford to do that because I am now in a cash positive position.
