I saw Sketches of Frank Gehry the other day on PBS and that was pretty good. I've found myself staring out into the distance looking at architecture more often now, so I'd say it did it's job well.

Yes, I've heard of Penn and Teller's Bullshit series, but never got around to watch it. It's definitely on top of my list.

Rodney Bingenheimer is such an annoying braggart, it's not even funny. Plus his haircut has got to go. http://ec1.images-amazon.com/images/G/01/ciu/26/c4/fe18b220dca0b61ae8f75010.L.jpg

Penn and Teller Bullshit is ****ing awsome. I have every episode on my PC and I HIGHLY recomend it.
I really enjoyed the "Teenage Tourettes Camp" documentary because it was funny. For those who dont know what it is, its a documentary following the lives of five British teens who have tourettes. They are sent to a tourettes camp with other kids who have tourettes to discuss struggles and just have a good time without worrying about their condition. Check it out.

The PETA episode (Season 2, ep 1) changed my life completely. I hate PETA and ALF and everything they stand for now.
And I love animals.

Metal a Headbangers Journey is just awesome, it wasnt quite as good as Ian Chirste's Number of The Beast book which had a lot more info in it, but still an awesome movie/documentary. Also the special features disc is packed with shit.

PETA people are batshit crazy.

I love that series. I caught most of the episodes when they were on Google video, but they took most of it off now. I'm considering getting season 1, though.
Anybody seen the Ken Burns' Jazz documentary? I hear that that's supposed to be one of the best.

haha, he's a very tragic figure in my opinion, and is fascinating from a sociological perspective. the documentary i saw was about his life and everythign he did and it's just amazing and intriguing to see someone whose entire life is devoted to being around celebrities, b/c that is how he feels at home. since he was brought up, his distance from his real family brought him into his new one, and he stayed with his new one forever, even though the guy's a loser. i think he's a geek triumph story, b/c he's doing with his life exactly what he always wanted to.

I think because I'm just too into movies I'd have to say..
Heart of Darkness (Apocalypse Now making of)
The Hamster Factor (found on B side of 12 Monkeys DVD)
Lost in La Mancha (was mentioned before. same crew did Hamster, but I thought HF was slightly more interesting because you can compare to a finished film)
For other subjects I also like..
Any Errol Morris film
Crumb (it's rare that you can enjoy a documentary and not enjoy the subject so much)
Roger & Me (I think this was Moore's opus because he hadn't gotten too full ((puns intented)) of himself yet.)

My all time favorite documentary is probably BBS: The Documentary (http://www.bbsdocumentary.com/)
- it goes fairly in-depth about the BBS system, how it was a precursor to the modern-day internet, how it shaped internet culture, and a ton of other facinating stuff. It's definitly worth checking out.

Definalty "Fearless Freaks" the documentary on The Flaming Lips. Amazing, like the band or not. The director was friends with the band since the late 80s or so, so he had alot of archived footage and was able to find some cool old videos from the early 80s. Anyways, easily my favorite doc.

The Weather Underground - I haven't seen it mentioned....has anyone else watched this?
Yes, I saw it about 9-10 months ago. For me, it was the best doc. film about social movements in the 60s/70s. I had never even heard of the “weathermen” prior to viewing it. I would not say I agree with all their tactics, but their story was very inspiring.

Please tell me you're not talking about the movie that just came out with The Rock.
Seriously guys, there is a difference between documentaries and "mockumentaries" Also, just because a movie was based on a true story does not make it a documentary; And is it at all possible rather than just rattling off a list of movies you've seen to up your street cred, could you at all possibly say why they were good. A list does no good, tell me why it's worth watching.
