Ive been a fan of craigslist for a while now, and though most of the time my items get sold in a reasonable amount of time.....there are always the tards that think they can scam me.

Now, not too many things make me mad....but lying and cheating to steal from people are one of my biggest pet peeves.

***UPDATE***
http://www.zug.com/pranks/powerbook/

One of the best scam busts I have seen.
I love Zug

This is probably one of the best cases Ive seen with it:
http://www.yikers.com/video_judge_judy_vs_an_ebay_scammer.html

I HATE THAT SHIT.

Nigerian scammers, bullshit ebayers, craigslist post whores.....FU****S

Anyway...

Sometimes its just funny the replies that I get for my stuff.

A clever scam artists replies with something like this:
am intrested in your item
and i want to know the present condition of it it will
serve as a good birthday present for my son

Ok, could be a local Dad, typing a quick email from work....Ill bite.
Until I get this reply:
Thanks for your response..,

I am fully okay with the item and i will be sending you
the payment through United State Postal Money Order(USPS)....So i
will offer you $250.00 ..for the item..so..., you can end the
post.........

Note: kindly get back to me with your full name, address, contact
phone number and the weight of the item.. so, that i can order USPS to
proceed with the payment...........

............ And i will be sending you the shipping documents, which
you don't have to pay for the shipping cost, i will be responsible for
the shipping to destination.....

by sending you the shipping documents.USPS Works: USPS approves but if
the payment is not sufficient, they will automatically deny the
payment and the payment will be mailed to your address in three to
five days once they approve it. As soon as USPS Approves my payment,
you will then receive notification from USPS.
Awaiting your payment contact............
Thanks And Best Regards.

HAHA, awesome.....

What’s even better is in what way i reply to these people.

Guess what *****......cash only.

Your mom would never take a USPS money order, why should I?

Even funnier is that they read it....I mean, they get a reply why shouldn’t they read it?

I’m sure it burns them too....what are they going to do? Get mad at me...ask to meet me in a parking lot? Sure...guess who is going to jail? Then they move on to the other scams they have going.

Anyhoo...

Here are a couple more:

Some of these are just sad….please learn better English before you try to scam.

The funny part to me is that I respond to some of them....with as much of the worst language possible. I also include large pictures of the worst images I can find....Goatse and so forth :P

Just pisses me off that people want to steal from other people. I really want to "meet up" to finalize a sale with someone who wants to scam.......it would be fun.

Any other stories from sellers?

I'm still trying to figure out what the problem is with a Postal Money Order. Most banks will cash them. If you deposit them, the banks will make the funds available immediately. Large cash deposits usually won't be available until the next day. Large cash transactions are actually less trustworthy than Postal money orders.

However, the guy doesn't need any personal information to send you one.

EBAY should stop this kind of fraud. It's obvious when you see it. But, someone could easily miss it. The ads are designed to be misleading. It only makes people not want to shop on EBAY.

Recently, I ordered 2 1GIG memory simms from a company in California and they shipped me nothing but heat sinks. I double checked the listing and it WAS for memory. They didn't answer their phones for three days so my credit card company canceled the charge for me.

You are right; there is nothing wrong with real USPS money orders. After working with a bank for a while I know that they have had problems with fake ones. There is a flood of counterfeit money orders, especially USPS ones. Sure, IF they pass inspection you can cash them...but when they come back from the central processing.....your are ****ed. Not only will they want their money back, but you will most likely be investigated for it.

All of it is garbage.

The second part of the scam is your personal information. Now they have what they need to continue scamming in your name. How fun.

sigh....it amazes me that people actually sign the papers saying "yes, I will go be on that show". In the contract it states in there that you will abide by any and all decision the "judge" makes.

Just ****ing morons being judged over by a wannabe dumbass.

Just ****ing morons being judged over by a wannabe dumbass.Wannabe dumbass? I am no fan of the show, but she was practicing law in New York in 1972 as a prosecutor, was elevated to the bench as a Judge in the Family Courts, and was ultimately promoted to Supervising Judge of Manhattan. Not too bad for a dumbass.

The show has no legal standing though, EXCEPT that the contract that is signed is then enforcable via the small claims court. Judge Judy isn't so much about the law as it is about mediation. Since the contract is in place, it gets rid of the extra baggage, and simplifies the small claims process - since failure to pay is now based upon a legally signed contract, and not the events that went in to the creation of the contract.

If you've got some time on your hands, you can learn to scam the scammers, get then to send you real cash in a show of good faith. They'll send you, say, $10, to show they're not gonna scam you. Then you just keep it and laugh at them. I love doing that.

Basically she keeps up a tough shell and keeps distance between herself and the litigants. This is what judges are supposed to do, not get buddy-buddy.
