With some of Alex and Heathers efforts, I would stick to watching them for entertainment value rather than cooking tips.
Go to www.foodnetwork.com
Type Monte into the seach box.
This recipe (http://www.foodnetwork.com/food/recipes/recipe/0,,FOOD_9936_15689,00.html?rsrc=search) is probably the easiest. Personally I would go with ham (honey ham, shaved) and swiss ... but I am a traditionalist.

The Monte' Cristo isn't that difficult to master. I think the traditional Monte' Cristo has ham and Turkey. Nevertheless, I feel like slipping out to the nearby diner for one.
